A Vocoder is what I know the tone box to be called. "The Rainbow Children." is a fantastic Ballad all the way through, and ahead of it's time for those that don't like it.

Without a doubt! It's the last great "studio" album he's done! It was the last time it sounded like He cared about being in the studio!

Of course. Anyone that doesn't like it simply HAS to be "behind"...

Tha album sucks and is NOT ahead of anything. He went from innovation to simple shitty ass jazz.

Plain & simple.

TRC is up there with Prince's best work. It is in his top 4 by far. I don't hear jazz music on it. Jazz elements here and there certainly but no jazz.

The combination of Prince playing nearly all the instruments + Mister Blacwell is outstanding.

If you like this thing trc, then you probably think his 90's output was "BRILLIANT" and cutting edge.

....and good for you!

TRC is miles away from D&P, Rave or NPS. It's in fact the exact opposite. A piece of art. Introspection work. Musically Prince at his peak.

Now I dnt kno how u can b so judgemental of sumone else "creation" but i dnt kno if i speak for any other prince fan but i adore the fact that prince branch out to other elements of music in the 90s and 00 cuz frankly i was gettin tired of the same funk tunes he always continues to play.....if you were a musician you would find out that alot of prince chords and song arrangements are similiar which gets boring to play after a while

its funny how i jus had to explain what you jus said about me to another orger and your rite choas and disorder i like emancipation loved it come loved it old friends for sale wasnt bad the truth and crystal ball were good at least to me.
saying what iz a good song or a bad song and b a judgement call, but the truth is the "real" difference between good music and bad music is that good music may be sumthin you dont like but was performed well and bad music is sumthin u probably dnt like and was performed well in any element from the playin to the arrangment to the vocals etc. thats my logic

I've said this before and I'll say it again.....the first time I heard Rainbow Children it scared the living heck outta me lol
Having no clue what it was going to be like I put it on at full volume and that deep voice near made me pee my pants lol
But seriously once I listened to it a few times I began to really enjoy it.....and I quite frankly dont give a damn what anyone else says.
I like what I like....Im not asking anyone else to like the same thing as me because that would be boring...and I hope no one expects me or anyone else to agree with them just because they dont like something
Lets enjoy our diversity people...Im sure Prince does wink
