In about a week, snippets of the tracks will be found on the mentioned website above...
I know that Norwegians haven't got the best reputation (much because of the Eurovision Nill-pointers) but we do have some really fantastic artists here. My compilation is packed with the best ones:-)

I'm amazed no group outside Norway has bagged the name " Don Juan Dracula " before now , sadly the only Norwegian I'd pay to see perform live has now retired and his name was Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer , legend . Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :

Wow, I like that this Tribute doesn't end after 1989. It's great to see a lot of 90's songs and even 2000 songs. That's real good right there. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I love tribute CDs because it often gives me a chance to hear why other people choose these songs.
I even have a really awful midi instrumental version of Prince songs and I chose it because I thought the tracklist would be perfect if I made it out of the originals.

Wait a fucking minute...
Ulver is on that complilation. If the other artists are anything nearby big profile as that in Norway, then they've managed to convince rather good musicians on the compilation. But make no mistake about it, Ulves is one of the biggest and most respected names in the alternative circles industry even on a global scale.

I've heard "The Cross" by Audrey Horne, and it kicks ass!
They recorded it in the same studio I was working on something else... [Edited 4/12/08 1:25am]

Yeah! The Audrey Horne version is fantastic. Crusade-hevymetal the old-fashioned way!
Ulver is one of my favourite Norwegian bands, and their version of "Thieves In The Temple" is just fantastic. They're actually a quite "dark" band, but this time they have featured the soulvocalist and Wyclef Jean-protegée Siri Stranger. It's absulute faboulous. I miss Thomas Dybdahls name on this compilation too... He was supposed to do "I wanna be your lover", but (as he said) he just didn't think his version was good enough, so he didn't dare giving it away. But his bandmember (of National Bank), Morten Quenild is in, and he has done a marvellous version of "Under The Cherry Moon", Keith Jarrett-style! Here's a little preview...Grande (norwegian blues grammy winner 2008) with the track "Paisley Park" www.myspace.com/kjetilgrande

Wow!
I'm shocked! That cover of Paisley Park ROCKS! If this indicitive of the quality of this cover album tribute, it should be amazing. Might be the best cover of a Prince tune I've heard. Purplehead
