Mine would be Purple Rain simply because my nan(grandmother)passed away last year.Myself and her were very close and her favourite colour was lylac(shade of purple)she also brought me the Purple Rain album.so when i hear that song it always reminds me of her.

Your choice dosent hav 2 be like that.You could pick a song 4 the meaning of the song itself not like me cuz it reminds you of sum1,here ill give u 3 examples....

1.Planet Earth - cuz u care for the enviroment and how we treat our planet etc....

2.The Ladder - cuz itz about the salvation of your soul and bettering yourself as a human being

3.Joint 2 Joint - cuz ur a pothead threw and threw(like me)

I think that "For You" is the most meaningful, as Prince went on to love the world through music, from that song forward.

For me, Gold, no question.

It was the song that not only convinced me to get The Gold Experience, but I discovered it early on and knew right then and there how special it was.

Almost every time I'd listen to it, no matter what I was going through, it helped me through it. It gave me hope and brought peace to whatever chaos I was dealing with.

At times, I'd just have to think of it and there's really no word to explain the connection I have with it other than call it my "Soul Tattoo."

I heard about the story behind the song on the "Purple Reign" interview and Susan Rogers mentioned he wrote it cuz he was really close to Susannah and wanted 2b close with her like she is with Wendy. the last verse of sign o the times (really the whole thing, but that part especially) sounds pretty to me. purple rain, if i was your girlfriend, the holy river and desire are all very thoughtful/meaningful songs as well imo.

When Doves Cry. Without getting mushy, let me say this: When you come from a crazy ass household, this song means alot. Alot.

The last song(s) of the week from 3121 were songs to make you think and reflect, (Into the Light and I Will), they had a calming effect and was inspirational. Sometimes from my narrow perspective I can't see a way out of my private prison and give up easily, but the lyrics to these songs give me a boost, knowing that problems are temporary and there is always an end to them.

"Same December" reminds me of a recent period in my life, where everything was turned upside down...

"7" as well has a lot of personal meaning to me, in general.

For me its "Saviour". It moves me every time and makes me think of my relationship with my partner of 22 years.
