It went from the gold on black symbol guitar, black symbol guitar, white symbol guitar and purple symbol guitar. I always dug the look of that white symbol guitar. And while on the subject why did he stop playing the cloud guitar altogether?

I never saw the White one until Purple rain.

He stopped playing clouds after the ONA tour thingy. He "put it rest" or something.

He stopped playing them because he wanted to "mature."

He didn't want to be the poof in the skating outfit holding a Nerf gun with strings on it while doing splits and licking a mic stand anymore.

There is a White Symbol guitar.. He used it during the Emanciaption era/years.

Only pic I could find of the white.


He also had a solid gold (colored) one


I don't know what he'd quit playing the clouds. They were very nice and sounded cool. I guess he just wanted something that looked cooler (to him). He stopped using the white symbol because I heard he broke it. The lower horn part kept breaking off.

The white symbol guitar was first played during the Emancipation launch party at Paisley Park in '96. Some of the guitars were simply just painted in different colours during different eras.

i dont even think he was playing them in 98, so it was probabally only 97 / 6

As far as I'm aware it was only used during the Emancipation era. I don't remember ever seeing it again after then.
