Electric Intercourse Appreciation!

I've been listening to this song a lot lately and I really think it's one of Prince's best songs ever music. Shame not too many people outside of Prince fans know about it though but does anyone else dig this song?
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

It's an unreleased song that was recorded for the "Purple Rain" album. If i'm not mistaken, I think "Electric Intercourse" was replaced by "The Beautiful Ones" (which is another great song btw).

biggrin I totally agree - this is my favourite prince song ever !!!

I also think the extended version of the beautiful ones should have been kept complete for Purple Rain, it's even more powerful than the edited version.

Love love love this song.

This is my all time favorite Prince song too. Rehearsal and live are both outstandingly great. This song is way to good to be have put on the shelf like it was.

i like this better than the beautiful ones
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

This song is an imprint of Prince's true essence of song writing and music composing..not leaving out his powerful vocal work.

10/10 track..

that we riddled some middleman who didn't do diddily"--BP

there is 3 different versions ..one rehearsal has the song being per4med twice

the other is the instant "wake up wendy!" line

and then there is the per4mance from 1st avenue ..with a delayed scream at the end of the song 2 close it out

the first time I heard this song, must have been in the late nineties, I swear I almost cried. It really brought back all those memories of 1984. He never really quite recaptured this special "electric" sound of that year. Very different from what he did before and all he did after.
