long story short, he's not the greatest piano player in the world and he doesn't have to be. There is no real demand for great piano technicians, in fact you can go to any community college and sit around the piano rooms and here better players, it's not a novelty, there are many other things that are more important in prince's field.

(btw she is a student on classical music academy, shes great at playing bach,vivaldi,mozart,chaikovski,maler...) she was realy impressed with prince's piano playing she said"wow prince kicks ass of the piano. did prince evolve in his piano playing??? Your friends has the right idea. Chopin might have been able to make a person cry but could he make you do the funky chicken ? prince is a rounded artist and can reach into extreme emotions with his music so the tech aspects are often full of snobbery. For instance the late James Jamerson the Motown house sessions bassist is still widely admired for his playing by bassists who are far more accomplished than him because of how he chose to play and refrain in the recordings that he did. Other Bassists who can play faster and with more virtuosity are aware that they proberbley woulod not have been able to do anything better than Jamerson in the stuff he was working on. Thats my 2 c notes anyway. you can see me playing piano on "Fat Slam's Empty Stovepot Blues Stew" by clicking on this link... http://cybernought.com/ Enter the site then press the video buton and select profile. I`m playing piano after the guitar bit.
