The FULL Little Red Corvette song.. which is about.. what, 7 or 8 minutes? that is a GREAT SONG.. dont like the edit one, but the full version is amazing..

"Little Red Corvette" isn't one of my favorites as it stands on the album. However, the extended version is top-notch! I agree that this album is sublime. Everyone here knows how much I've been pimpin' it lately. It's fantastic!

if Prince Ever had to just do Vegas He got plenty of Pocket Money&Tips off this One Cut alone.the Extended Version is tight.Very Cleaver use of a Car&Lyrical Content that all works.timing was also everything the Vette was the "IN" Car around the time the Album came out.Car Metaphor along the lines of Chuck Berry is Very American as Apple Pie.Prince knew it would work&it did.

The lyrics are just AMAZING "You an ass like I neva seen, you must be a limousine" tight!

1999 is without a doupt the most POWERFUL LP from the 80's, SOTT is my fave LP but 1999 was the start of the real DARK PRINCE's music he was sooo energic in that era and creative as hell. You just can feel the intensity everywhere once you bumb this CD into you walkman.

The song is possibly about Jamie Shoop and Don Batts. Jamie supposedly had the looks and the corvette and Don was into professional racing. The song lyrics were written in the back of Lisa's bubble gum pink, 1964 Ford Mercury Monterey, with a white painted top. Little Red Corvette and 1999 were taped in his basement studio using a 24 track tape machine. And how do I feel when I hear the song? Incredible, absolutely incredible.
