Printable I was just on the 3121 site, and they thanked Housequake for removing footage of the "Somewhere Here on Earth" video. I know the man is peculiar,but when has he ever been so polite when his lawyers are on the war path? It seems to me from what I've read, and correct me if I'm wrong, that this is a dispute over copyrighted materials, and not just another one of his eccentric needs to prove a point about artist controlled products.
I for one come to this site for the news. Without it I would be a bit out of the loop, about all of his appearances and releases. I feel sites like these are the 21st centure word of mouth and independant artist, no matter how big, needs. | |

I do know that I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this shit! I don't care WHO it's from, even IF it's from Prince but there's just a part of me that can't, won't write him off completely! (Hell! I've loved him since I was 8 and I'm 37 now, you do the math!) At least not until I see and hear the words come directly from his lips. 
At which time, if it happens, I'll be like a woman that just walked in on her man, on the down stroke! Trust and believe, my wrath, whomever it's aimed at, won't be pretty! | |

May I ask, if the issue had been another one and he had done something like sleeping with pre-teens or beating up women, which of course is much worse, would fans have reacted as strongly or is it just the fact that it personally effects us fans that makes people so insane?

You are all barking mad. The guy just has some issues with some pics and crappy videos that don't show his art the way he would like it shown. I am with you!! I am still waiting to see the language in the documents proving that Prince/WS are wanting or demanding these sites to be shut down or all photos be taken off etc as Prince is accussed of. I TRIP on how people say and make statments about PRINCE and what he is doing as if they know exactly what is in his head or if they are Prince themself. There is so much negative mudslinging against Prince that it is now just stupid. I love and appreciate the ORG but I do not appreciate reading negative things based on hate, lies and slander about Prince or anyone when it seems to fit the aagenda of the so called fan's version of what he or she thinks Prince should be in thier own mind. But when it comes down to it, Prince is just another businessman who just happens to strap on a guitar every now and then. He's not in music anymore to make great music so much as he wants to make a lot of money. Never mind the fact that the man's already made more money than God. 
He comes off like an out of touch old man when he behaves this way and it's obvious that he doesn't appreciate his fans. It was one thing to put up with his shenanigans when he was still making great music, but nowadays, the music isn't all that good anymore. He seems to be going the route a lot of older artists have gone in that he's spending more time in the boardroom than in the studio. I mean, when was the last time we heard a story about him that had to do with his MUSIC??? It's a shame considering the fact that this man IS a genius, but I just can't support an artist who clearly cares so little for his fans, and all because they question his actions or his output. If anything, it ought to make him straighten up and fly right. The Org is one of my favorite forums and I've learned so much about life, music, love, and yes, Prince here, but if the man himself is so sensitive that he can't take any criticism, he ought to keep his ass home. How does one survive for so long in the music industry if they can't take criticism? I am sad to say this, but based on his recent actions and output, I won't support him any more until he gets his shit together and acts like a human being who lives in the real world. I've witnessed him do this shit before and I said at the time that if the fans did not stand up to his foolishness, he'd do it again! Not many were brave enough to ruffle his royal feathers, they made excuses, pleaded his rights, then basically sat back and watched as many very good sites were yanked because of his tactics and manipulations and here we are again in 2007 with the same shit! Personally, the idea of waiting for him to wake up one day and decide that he no longer wants anyone to listen to "Head" or "Sister" anymore because he no longer likes it and they're his songs, just doesn't appeal to me!
