I only watched it once...and it was a bit painful. I'm trying to watch it again before I comment but I can't make it through. To think I was beginning to like the twins. This thing needs to be completely recut and they shouldn't be in a frame of it. They take fashion runway to ghetto fashion show...but not the good kinda of ghetto...the kind without flava. well, I don't have a name for it yet. But it's not good. It's even too weird to be funny. The band and everyone on stage is completely cool. The video looks like HDV and is shot well. Chelsea: After this video, I'm less interested and it's supposed to be about her. She's supposed to have the charisma of a muse...the one that inspired this song...but this video brings none of that out. She's cute but that's it. It looks like the story of a girl getting ready for prom. & Why is she in the audience!? Just sitting. Why isn't the camera following her. Why isn't some story being told? Prince looks good but I don't like his place in this story either. It would have been better if he were more laid back in the audience...not performing. It makes his getting up on the runway less climactic... The coolest shots in the entire video are those brief shots of the designer. Prince should have been presented with that kind of mystique... What would have saved this video is a stronger Chelsea Rodgers and the absence of the Twins...the band has enough energy of it's own. Glad to see Shelby showcased - I'm not even crazy about her voice on THIS cut but having seen her live this girl can really sing. She's showcased better when she's playing with Martin Luther but whatevuh, I dig her 
The video makes me like the song a bit more, I'm glad he had this professionally shot. I'm still just so-so about the song but I'm sure it was a treat for those @ the show. & WHY are people saying Chelsea looks like a man? She's super cute, leave her alone  I like the way he did her initials like his symbol, I bet Chris Rock is jealous!

I agree I wish he would have showed his eyes and he wasent smiling in the video either..except at the end sitting down giving Chelsea a high 5. Maybe he had another allnighter b4 this was shot.
The idea of the runway..chelsea a model in the show...fashion..band playing was really cool.The execution on the other hand..mmmmm I donno. Its far from my favorite of Prince's videos but I enjoyed seeing him and Chelsea. Probably wont watch it again unless it comes on tv. Thanks for the post Savage! To make someone inquire or to build intrigue, you have to leave a few clues about who/what she is. It almost feels as if you know much less about her and you don't even care.
If they'd even started with her in another location it would tell something about her. The models are getting their faces, she's leaving a party or a class at F.I.T (like Mahogany), or a monastery or whatever. They're getting dressed, she's in a cab sketching...she rushes in, she makes her cue etc... It's a bit cliche but at least it creates some dynamic around her.
