I seriously don't wanna think about it disbelief. No matter what kind of crap life deals me i can always look forward to Prince coming to town and to think that I would never be able to see him in concert again, even now I'm counting how many more shows he's got in London and he gets back to the U.S.. I'm mean all my life people...(Oh lord, I can feel myself getting hysterical) sad

If anything, I would like him to take more time between releases but tour more often.

Prince doesn't celebrate birthdays, so that makes me question the validity of the source.

I'm was just watching the Brits 06 performance. How can anybody Not love this man? Or think that he won't be doing this until the day he dies, he was Born to perform and he IS music!

omg, Love that performance... it's just incredible.

Of course, its the first time I heard Te Amo Corazon and I felt that the whole set-up and the way he performed it, it seemed like it drew a pretty mental picture using his "aura"... amazing.

I agree completely.

yeah, you're right. Of course, plenty others have pointed that out. I'm sure he does know how old he is, but he doesn't pay attention to age. In fact, it's hard for me to attach an age to him cuz he looks so good now.

I'm a football fan and it seems to me like Prince & Packers QB Brett Favre have something in common.
Brett Favre has been playing for so many years, 15+ seasons and he's in his 40's now. Although he's slowing down, he still goes out there and does pretty well.
Either Brett Favre is the 'Prince" of the NFL, or Prince is like Brett Favre. Either looks like they'll ever retire from their chosen careers.

How can we know what he is going to do? Is anyone tapped in telepathically or have a direct link to the man to quiz him hour by hour?

"Hey Prince, ya gonna quit? NO? Ok, I'll call be in 2 hours and see how you feel about it."

Someone said something about the richness that has come into his music and I agree. Maturity, growth, life has added much to the listening experience. In the physical sense, perhaps he believes that he needs to remain looking 'young' because its a youth market?

Personally, I feel he would look rather handsome with a streak of white or silver in his hair.

He has this timeless quality as well....

Exactly, they simply can't do it,even if they want to. I remember watching a doc on Jarvis Cocker and he said he aimed to give it up after 20 years to be married and look after his kid 'do the grown up thing' but then song ideas just came to him all the time like when he was running a bath. We don't need to worry about P folks, he changes his mind too often! biggrin

Prince says he doesn't believe in time anymore, so, if he's serious, he won't know or acknowledge the fact that he's 50. He did say that after this tour he'll take some time off to study The Bible.

nana If Prince doesn't celebrate his birthdays, he won't know when his 50th arrives. In keeping with this logic, he's probably only had a couple birthday celebrationsk if any, which means that it will be a long time before the 50th? Right? woot!

That's interesting for someone who doesn't celebrate birthdays or count his age.

Since when do rumors get any real credit anyway?

yeah really...

The number does really nothing for me. He doesn't believe in age... and it really doesn't define him. His work defines him better than that meaningless number ever will.

This is complete nonsense.....he's vibrant, full of life, and still driven. "50" is NEXT year! He's too young for retirement.....financially yes, mentally NO WAY!!
Plus, he's three years younger than myself, and I couldn't imagine an "age" or #, where one stops anything. Utterly ridiculous.

No way is he going to retire from making music, his only true love.
But I do believe, he's going to take a longer break, to sort out his personal life. Maybe he wants to make more time for a special someone.
I would think his personal life suffers, when he pays most of his attention to his career.
Just a thougt...

Personally I dont see him fully retiring, his music is part of who he is and if he is anything like my family, full retirement is a dirty word lol However, I do think he needs some down time and who can blame him?
I'm all for him having a rest but will be very sad if he leaves music alltogether nod
And until P say's it himself, Im not going to listen anyways lol

This is the dumbest post on here. Just because a person doesn't celebrate a birthday doesn't mean he doesn't realise when it is. he's just started this in the last 10 years. confused

Life is short.

No amount of money, hot women, success, etc. can give a person true peace.
I think a few years off to push deeper into himself would be a beautiful thing.

Just saying.

With that said, I wouldn't mind if he took a break from "the business" 4 a while.

The concern lays in if he makes his return & starts releasing music again.. but I'm sure that he won't be able to resist the urge 4 too long.
Regardless of the way he did so, he's released new music nearly every year or two since his career began. Even if he quits 4 a while, it won't be for too long.

He needs to just marry Sheila E. and be truly happy for the rest of his life. The other 2 women were just hoes compared to Sheila. As for him paying them alimony, that's something he just has to live with.

I hope he doesn't retire though. The just would not be the same.

The man lives 4 music cuz music lives within him, the life force that flows thru him.

I believe he's right on the money with that statement. Cuz if he stops writing, all of the energy that's flowing thru him will pile up and he'd pretty much explode...

That much I know.
