I just added something to my collection:
I was doing a summer internship at a newspaper in Suburban Illinois that ended last month. At my going away party one of the staff photographers gave my two framed photos of Prince from the Super Bowl that he had personally taken at the press conference and at halftime. (They had sent reporters and photogs down to Miami to cover the event since the Bears were there). I now have on my work desk at my new newspaper job in California and one at home. This was so amazing, I almost cried.

I just have a lot of 80's Prince, The Time, Sheila E., Apples 6 and Vanity, Jesse Johnson vinyl too, plus a lot of 12" vinyl. I think my mom has a Purple Rain tour t-shirt somewhere too. [Edited 9/19/07 14:31pm]

I had a few of the "limited edition" releases (Batman tin, gold foil , shaped Sexy MF record) but the coolest was the purple paisley-shaped Diamonds & Pearls.
I don't have any of that stuff anymore. All I have are the CDs and VHS/DVDs.

Hmmm, I suppose my shop display of Grafitti Bridge (I've had "Prince" turn up at a few parties at home thanks to the cardboard cutout I have of him).
As for vinyl, got lots of Japanese 7" imports, Mountains 10" white vinyl, Purple Rain picture disc album, among others! Still trying to justify to my wife me buying the last thing I want in my collection, Tales from the Rain!

My signed copy of Lovesexy by Prince, Sheila E and Cat
I've also got about six copies of a fanzine called Controversy (I think, been a while since i got em out) from around the Diamonds & Pearls era before it went out of print. I also have every tour program for all UK/Europe tours since Parade in 86. I am looking to complete my collection with a Purple Rain and Musicology tour program ( if anyone has any for sale please orgnote me) 3 unused tickets for the cancelled shows at Blenheim Palace in UK circa 92 and many other wonderfull things. I used to have a footlocker full of everything "Prince" that I owned; tourbooks, music sheets, albums, tapes, CDs, VHS, DVD, magazines, newspaper clippings, etc.
I had (for myself) a moment of clarity and either sold or gave away most of that stuff. All I have now really is the music and the video stuff. No paper-related items . . . I do appreciate those who still collect this stuff though! It just wasn't for me anymore.

SquirrelMeat said: aliuk1 said: Did you win that from a competition on Radio 1 (many years ago)? No. I got it at a show. Prince used to throw most of his Parade clothes in the audience, but never one of the Kiss Jackets. He always used to throw them off, but always into the photography/security pit, never to the audience. I happened to be in the front row, and the jacket landed in the pit right in front of me. There lay the dilemma....Do I lean in and get it? Being an excited kid, I thought, to hell with it. when I did pick it up a security guard saw me but didn't say anything. OMFG that's brilliant. Imagine how pissed off he was when he realised. I bet it's the same one he was photographed in all that year. He'll read this and be thinking, "Grrrr, that's where my bloody jacket went." Fantastic story. *look at my lovely jacket - yummy isn't it* *Give it back! I'll set Jerome on you.*

i have a signed ticket to a lovesexy show, (wembley '88), an A1 size sheet of original design ideas for all the bandmembers logos for the lovesexy tour, drawn by steve parke and sent to paisley park for comments, and it has princes handwritten comments by the sides of the logos.

Well my brother have this tambourine that have the androgynous symbol on it when he saw Prince in concert back in the 19990's. Unfortunely, I don't have a cool or rare Prince item. Your brother went to the future to see Prince? It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I have every officially released picture disc bar one (Rico!) plus most of the promo releases on coloured vinyl (again missing a couple). One the more unusual items i still have is the Greek pressing of the Lovesexy LP - its not hugely different to the UK version, its just my big brother bought it back from his summer holidays for me

Actually almost scary, because I would pay the $385 I managed to find a copy at a record show,2 years ago for $75. Still sealed. Even then, I thought that was kind of steep. This one goes in my rare category. (*only 130,000 copies were made.) my phone is heavy
