That bit was left out on purpose! smile

Simply because I don't want to give anything away and get the person that gave it to me into trouble. Part of the deal was I promised not to sell it, promote it or copy it.

Its not the big reel pre-mixed tape by the way, its the more throwaway solid metal studio cassette tape.

Are you talking about that studio demo of Lonely Christmas? The one where you could hear prince talking during the demo where he continues to tweak the song as he goes. He also talks to band members and music engineers during the taping.

No, this is an outtake song that clocked in at approx 3.30 circulating, but the tape contains an unfaded version clocking in a 4.54. No studio talk around it.

Its not a stunner in unreleased terms (no new verses etc), just a nice to have from a personal point of view. Great Prince vocals beyond what was previously considered the fade out.

I got a Black Album in '89 for $55.

I played it once to copy it onto a true metal cassette tape which was state of the art at the time.

I still have it but I figure when WB released the BA on CD in '94 it's value dropped pretty significantly.

I have a Lovesexy tour book (unsigned).

I have a German import of house mixes of The Future and Electric Chair. Probably not that rare but way kewl mixes.

Not technically a Prince item but I have a 12 inch of Mavis Staples Jaguar with 4 different mixes on it.

I have a love symbol prince belt buckle that I purchased from the Glam Slam Boutique phone line in 1991. I have never worn it, and it still has gold on it. I bought it through an advertisement I saw in the old Controversy fanzine.

I also have an 8-by-10 Diamonds and Pearls album cover lenticular that was inside an old "Radio and Records," a radio industry magazine, from my old college radio station.

I have a rare 12-inch of the Batdance / Vikki Vale mix with a black bat symbol on an orange inlay, also from my old college radio station. I kindly removed it from the extras bin when nobody was in the office since Prince, back in the late 1980s, was not doing so hot, so I figured nobody would mind.

And lastly, I still wear one of the first prince symbol necklaces. It's the old "Graffiti Bridge" version that Prince started wearing in 1990. I got it from a Controversy fanclub member who went to one of the Controversy Conventions in 1991. I took the symbol off the old chain and bought a new one, a much larger chain and the symbol necklace now goes down to my navel, like Prince wears. It's all about style, lol.

The prince belt buckle and necklace look similar, both from the "Graffiti Bridge" era.

I guess my rarest items would be my 80's vinyl...I have the Purple Rain LP with both the vocal and instrumental version of God, the long version of Paisley Park, the extended version of Pop Life all on vinyl and also the purple 45 of Purple Rain. I also have all my tickets stubs from 1986 on, my three LoveSexy tour t-shirts- one with Prince, one with Sheila, one with the "Yes" symbol- all in pretty decent shape for 20 years old although I did wear them all. Also, I have copy of Dave Hill's book, Prince- A Pop Life which has been out of print for awhile (and one of the best biographies written about him). I don't think they are rare, but I also have a bunch of Uptown issues in mint condition. I have every clipping I could find from the 84-89 era, but sadly did not keep full mags, just clippings and the covers he was on.

Coolest item? I'd have to say my wristband from the 3121 Jazz Cuisine aftershow and my MEMORIES of that show!
Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"
They've taken a lifetime lease on Paisley Park ...music

I guess the rarest is the cd of 1999 without DMSR.

What would that CD be worth? I have a mate with that CD and all he does is moan that the track is missing.

The Cd is not worth much. When Cds came out thae whole album wouldn't fit, so WB dropped the track instead of issuing it as a double. As CD capacity increased, they popped it back on. So, it is not a mistake. I would never have cut DMSR though.

I've passed many of my items on as I've tried to convince myself that I value the music more. Items included:

- Portugese single LP of 1999 in green
- Japanese 7" Purple Rain with Purple Vinyl
- Parade LP picture disc + Kiss with Plinth + Mountains 10" white vinyl
- Paisley Park Shaped pic disk
- All SoTT + Batman Pic Disks
- Gotta Stop 5 track 12" Promo. WB released this to US radio stations after the release of Dirty Mind. It was a panic move on their part to make sure the radio stations had a disk that was friendly for the airwaves.
- Cowbell Maceo Parker handed to me on the Rainbow Children Tour (still got this)

I used to go to London to buy the US 12" s during ATWIAD and Parade era, as they had extended versions (Hello, America, She's Always, Anotherlover...) that weren't released here, or not looking like they would be - they cost more than an album and were absolute gold dust to me.

The item I value most is a bootleg double LP of the first Prince Concert I ever saw. Parade Tour, London, Sting & Ronnie Wood joins for Miss You. So cool.

Well, I have all the bios more or less, all the magazines which did major writeups and interviews in his peak years. But for me personally, I'd have to say the actual ticket stubs to lovesexy and to musicology. Mean nothing to anyone else but i'll save them the rest of my life.

I have a Lovesexy tour working crew t-shirt. It was given to my father by a friend of his who worked on daid tour. With the t-shirt came a few tid-bits of trivia. The entire crew worked to a whistle.. once the whistle was blown, work was stopped regardless of where they were upto in their duties. They said sometimes lighting rigs were left hanging unsafely etc.. Furthermore, when Prince would walk onto the stage, on into a room where crew workers were standing, they would have to turn their backs to him - if this wasnt possible they were not to look at him.

That's one thing that gets me about Prince, he asks ridiculous things, I'm surprised so many people just go along with it.

Man has clout, but you know? That's actually not unusual for show business, Hollywood has had a no eye contact and still has that rule to this day. I agree it's silly.

I like my wee collection, even if nothing is very rare or things he has eaten/ worn! A few things I have are:

A stack of videos (including Undertaker, LoveSexy 1&2, singles such as Gett Off and Sexy MF, dunno if video singles are referred to as maxi singles or what)
Loads of LPs/ 7" and 12" singles (including Peach, Glam Slam, Batman and Parade singles)
Books like Prince: A Pop Life, DMSR: Prince, the first decade and a couple of "annuals" from the 80s and 90s.
My Sign O The Times badge: a large silver heart-shaped one with Prince Sign O The Times on it
Betcha by Golly Wow/ Right back Here in My Arms CD single in Orange/ Black packaging with free poster
AND! although not official in the slightest, my Diamonds and Pearls skirt with the album cover picture on it, which I wore to the 4th August gig. This is my favourite because, lets be honest, if I can't have the real Prince there, I can at least wear a picture of his face on my thigh wink

This is just off the top of my head, like I said, not particularly rare at all, but part of a wee collection that I have built up for 12 years and counting! I like reading about what everyone else has. Anoyone got the GET WILD cologne?
Sounds like a real man to me...mind if I turn on the radio?

I have Princes "Symbol" autograph inside my 1994 copy of Vibe magazine, I got at a record store signing. I wrote him a short note on the inside stating basically I hope he gets the freedom he is seeking and wished him happiness for the future. He turned it around said "thank you" and signed it. so I got a thank you and I have his finger print as well. I also have my original Purple Rain concert & 86 B-day Detroit concert stubs. I got my original Prince, Controversy (with the shower poster), & Dirty Mind LPs that I got as a kid.

Had a look through my old stuff and found ticket stubbs from the 80's & 90's, rude and D&P programmes, not classed as rare I know...
A few Controversy fanzine booklets, some film cells from UTCM. Loads of paper clippings and some full magazine articles, posters etc. Also found my SOTT carrier bag! A few singles on vinyl, 12' picture disc of Thunder and all albums on vinyl from 'For you' to 'sott'.
I used to have my bedroom stencilled out with Prince & purple rain between all the pics!!! I'm a lot older now so most of the stuff is in a suitcase except for some nice pics I have on display.
My rarest thing I think is my 'For you' album on vinyl. lol

Best I can do is a white label 12" promo of Chaka's 'I Feel 4 U' backed with Prince's 'Erotic City'. Also the 12" white label of 'I Wish U Heaven/Scarlet Pussy'. Oh, and a five-track 'Gett Off' white label 12".

I've also got a UK pre-paid phone card with a Gold-Experience era piccie on it.

And the Goldnigga 15 track CD bought from the London NPG Store (And to think on my previous visit, I saw the version with 'Guess Who's Knockin' on it and didn't buy it. Bah!)
