14 years

My 6th grade school year at the tail of the Purple Rain phenomena right before ATWIAD came out.In other words,22 years and counting.

Since Soft & Wet. The 70's was the best time for music. Listening to 94 East reminds me alot of that time...funky jazzy big band sounds (ie Rose Royce, Dazz Bank, Earth Wind & Fire) Prince could hang with the best of them. All those other bands have however, fallen by the wayside, but he's still kickin it, and that's why I'm still a fan.

I'd be his Future Baby Mama too! (considering my age tho, he'd better cum quick with the lickin stick)

since 1988

i've been a Prince fan since I heard the first Prince song 'Girls and Boys' around 1988, I was about 12 years old.

since then I have become a bigger fan and now I am 31 years old. the early 90's was a time for me when I discovered more of Prince's back catalogue and performances through MTV.

When Purple Rain came out, I was 15 and I just loved it. At my local record store, in their window, they had a lifesize cardboard cutout of Prince on his motorbike. I badgered them for it, they promised it to me and I went in every Saturday for weeks to make sure nobody else was going to get it... weeks later, one rainy Saturday morning, it was all mine!
I took it home on the bus ... boy did I get some funny looks from people!!
That was the start of it - a long time ago!

I was born to be a Prince fan.The first time I heard Soft & Wet in 1978 I wanted to hear more.

29 years and counting. Should the mailman put my invite to Prince's 30th Anniversary Celebration in somebody else's box. I'm gonna throw my own!

About 5 years

Walking around in 79 singing "I wanna b ur lover" and my mom asking what I know about being a lover! Not knowing who sang it but loving the song. Then my coz getting Dirty Mind cassette 4 his bday and singin "Jack U off" and not knowing what that was but singing it @ the top of my lungs every where I went.

Heard "LRC" but still not a big fam or know that I had been jamming 2 this dude 4 years. Then saw "Purple Rain" and that day I went and got my first cassette. The next day I went back 2 the store and got Prince and 4 U (cause that's all I had the money 4) getting home and relizing I LOVED this guys stuff and a week later I had them all.
So when should I count myself as joining the fam? Is it 29y or 22y?

Almost 12 years. I fell in love him him smack dab in the middle of the years. I caught hell for it from my school mates, but it was worth it.

I remember in Jr High School, Going to the record store wih friends.
And they were all Hyped about buying the New Run-DMC record

Me i was all Let's go Crazy with Erotic City 12" $4.99 (and i had enough to get it)
And then one of my friends...says something like....Prince is gay.....
That just killed it
