So much hateration, I can't think of any other modern act Prince has complimented on record as much. He's clearly a big D fan.
Prince on D'Angelo after Brown Sugar: "Bring the player, I'll bring the CDs But don't U put nothing slow on That new D'Angelo, some N.P.G. And we'll make a bet 2 see who keep their clothes on" Prince on D'Angelo after Voodoo: "My level is now what u must learn 2 rise above Talk to D'angelo or better yet ?uestlove" Glug, glug like a mug

I read somewhere awhile back that D'angelo had memorized every Prince ( and Marvin Gaye ) song ever released. I doubted it at the time, but with a coke habit and no real career to speak of, anything's possible with all that extra time and energy ... http://www.mtv.com/news/a...gelo.jhtml

But u must understand some people on the org only see and hear what they choose... Its funny that they won't even acknowledge the fact that P is clearing digging D, but hey it be's that way sometimes...

D'Angelo's version of "She's Always In My Hair" is very good.
It was distributed in the UK as part of a magazine cover give-away album about 10 years ago. Can't remember the magazine, but I have the CD somewhere in "The Vault"....which is to say...big cupboard full of CD's and junk! Still have the song on my iPod though, cos I loved it.

It was back in the day when I used to buy "Lads mags" life FHM and Loaded too...so maybe one of them. It was a "New Soul" compilation if I recall. Hmm...must dig it out now.
