The Musicology of Planet 3121 CD

What if Prince and Warner Brothers mended their relationship and Prince said I have this new cd "The Musicology of Planet 3121" and it's going to be a huge hit with tons of chart topping singles. Within the past 3 albums in the past 3 years there is a classic album of Prince material. Here is the track listing :

1. Guitar
2. Black Sweat
3. Cinnamon Girl
4. The Dance
5. The One U wanna C
6. Musicology
7. Future Baby Mama
8. Call my Name
9. Fury (SNL version)
10. Song of the Heart
11. The Word
12. Reflection

If Prince was to release and album of this quality it would be a huge hit and would have the staying power that he needs on the charts , without any free give aways or golden tickets !?!

I definitely would take these out, but it's a nice idea!

the reason why 3121 and Musicology are so disppointing is because, unlike other Prince releases, there isn't a single essential or memorable track on them. sure, I would have preffered to buy one abbreviated disappointing album instead of two, so in that sense this isn't a bad idea, it would have saved me $10, maybe $20 depending on how I like PE.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

love, yes, the Prince as a victim track where he tries to sound like MJ. the Jughead thinks that song sucks.

This would sell nothing. I mean at this point we can all package our favorite songs here and there and its not gonna change things. PRINCE sells to his fan base like any other artist that has had a career of Longevity, all of them from Stevie Wonder to Elton John all had their day when they put out something the masses bought it, good or bad, and things level off and you find the people that are still with you are the ones that were there day one pretty much. Lets face it Prince is 49, tadio and MTV are different animals now, PRINCE is not going to be on a playlist today because any artist over 25 is considered OLD. So its cool to make these dream albums, but no matter what they are you are not gonna re-create that mania that any artist had when they were at THAT peak of their popularity, just deal already.

who inferred it was a waste of money? besides, how do I know I will like an album unless I listen to it?

don't jump to specious extremes to try and make a point, it only invalidates any argument you aree trying to make.

Musicology and 3121 are better off left dead and buried. They are extensions of the drudgery that bloomed on Emancipation.

Except for a couple of tracks, PE has more in common with the superior post-WB albums like TRC and ONA - IMO.
