Keith Richards - there was a rumour that Keith acknowledged Prince´s talent after watching the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performances. Could somebody confirm?

For the record, Marvin Gaye never had an issue with Prince. During 78/79 he admitted being jealous of the newcomer Prince who was "stealing his (women) fans" because he was younger and sang falsetto. But Marvin, simply saw Prince as serious competition. There was no disdain.

See, that's what I love about Prince. He doesn't waste his time mingling with the trash. Aren't Guns and Roses the ones that had something on the back of one the albums talking about "niggers, jews, and fags"? If so, yeah, they are trash and not worthy of Prince's or anyone else's time.

And while Slash is talking about someone looking like a "fag", I notice he has no problem performing with Michael Jackson. Of course, assholes have no problem with weak "fags" like Michael. It's strong "fags" like Prince they can't stand because the strong fags turn their nose up and see themselves above trash rather than crying somewhere like Michael Jackson.

I remember Fred Durst being on the Howard Stern Show a few years back being all upset ,because backstage at the VMAs, Prince didn't acknowledge him. Mark McGrath was there also and made some comment about how his album (The Vault...Old Friends 4 Sale or Rave) debut somewhere in the hundreds and then he started laughing. Nice to see McGrath now as a cohost of Extra and also becoming a spokesman for I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Wow,good career choices there.

I also remember a show on Vh1 called The List where celebs would talk about songs and artists and I recall Meatloaf rolling his eyes when Prince's name came up.

Thanks newskin69. I'm not a Guns and Roses fan at all so I never heard the song at all. I just remember there being a lot of controversy about some homophobic and racial slurs coming from the band in the late 80s or early 90s. I had always thought they were on the back of the album cover or something. Didn't one of the band members wear a T-Shirt somewhere that said something like "God hates fags" or "AIDS kills fags"?

Weird Al Yankovic said on VH1 that the year that Prince won all the "American Music Awards" for "Purple Rain" in early 1985, prior to going to the ceremony, Prince sent letters to everyone in the first few rows telling them not to look at him during the ceremony.
