4 Prince's Next Album: Independent Or Major Label?

What r u'r thoughts about him going underground/indie label/internet only as compared 2 a major label 4 his next release?

I really don't c sony ever signing up 2 do business with him again after the UK fiasco.

IMO I would prefer him going back underground via the internet. And have a whole album in one genre giving those that like a specific aspect of his music their choice as opposed 2 a mix bag of songs of each style.

He would make off like a phat rat regardless cause there would b people that would get each release anyway.

thoughts...?
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I think the next album is going to be a low-key project. Either a live album documenting the upcoming London shows, or Roadhouse Garden. And it'll be semi-independent or a mail-order only release, a la Crystal Ball. Though it'll probably get a minor distributor, same as CB, TRC and NEWS.

And then once he goes underground, folks will want him back in the lime light.

Here's the deal. Prince is in the Lime Light now and the chances of him going back underground with internet only music and hit and run tours in small clubs days are over. Prince will most likely always use a label to distribute his new CD's. He doesn't need to do this, but he will.

I might be wrong on this, but Prince is in command and demand, and he's loving the money and the attention he's now getting.

He's making too much money being mainstream. Of course, he will do another mainstream project. It may not be through a "record company", but I could see him doing something similar to the newspaper thing again.

It would be cool if he hooked up with a magazine that has millions of readers and distribute the cd that way.

He needs to find an "independent" or "major" producer first, and worry about distribution second.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

who would u suggest? and is a producer the way 2 go? it would b prince following the trend of having a "hot" producer who's beats will sound the same as everything else out there.
