you know....this song had potential but he lost it somewhere.....and now all it sounds like to me is something he has either done before or another artist has done before
could it be that he has done so much that he is starting to sound like himself??

I can understand your sentiments. It doesn't consume. It's just so....."NOT FUNKY". I am alright with some "Disco", but I'm not feeling this one a bit. It seems forced. Now, I think I wanna go listen to "Billy Jack Bitch".

Luv the funky flavor of the groove, but the lyrics are deep. "I don't make the rules. I just play"

I dont understand what happend with this model (until I read the lyrics) but reminds me a little to 1+1+1=3 and BJB (that is better song by far). A net of grooves interacting very well each other. To play on the highway ... bold and super dancing, but I think It doesnt works well on this album. I agree with the "the word" replaced. Perhaps get bored with the time...

A model.... USED to be a Role model.....
so now what happened... she is not a Role model anymore? Is she corrupt?

the song could very well have been a track on the 1800-new-funk project.
its pretty disco/funky, but seems a little out of place on this new disc, that overall has a more folk-kind of singer-songwriter traditional sound to it.

Let me check again. Man, I must have missed the thread title or something. Let me explain my comment. I didn't mean that the song was pure funk. Funky to me means jammable. It is one of his most groovy tunes in years. Does that sound better?

At first I thought it was an easy attept to do neo-disco, but it actually works. I always have to think of Jamiroquai when I hear this song (I think Jamiroquai does this kind of music much better though).
It's fun and it should be nice in concert (if he ever plays it). -dennis- -dennis-

I tried to like this song but the bass line makes me imagine a bunch of dancers on stage doing th funcky chicken side to side. I left this track off my home-made remix. Who is that Mavis Staples? On Mr. Goodnite too? Who is that? We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

too simple and that woman´s voice gets on my nerves a little
