Ah, Prince, why did u arrive so late?
If you released this song before ´Around the world´ it would have been a lot greater. But I still enjoy Chelsea a lot.

I love the song. I wish I would've heard more Prince and less Shelby in the cut but it's still funky and the song is still in my head and I haven't played it since Wednesday. I'd love to hear this song remixed.

yes indeed. i must say that since i picked up the cd, i do hear P more in the song but I still think P should have been the loudest.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

then i suggest u take another listen 2 the song Love and even the word has a hipper beat than this imitation disco song

Love's beat isn't the problem, I don't like the lyrics...

like the lyrics in this song make any more sense then the lyrics of the song love?

like a bird flying over the hilltops love is like the sky it never stops
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Best party song EVER! Disco's DNR has been recinded! Funk and killer horns put it over the top (not to mention the brilliant arrangement). I dare you NOT to dance to this masterpiece.

No song has ever made me more pissed that my CD player in my Jeep no longer FUNKtions!

I like it. I think Shelby's voice fits the song . She would make a great dance music artist.

To paraphrase Rene Magritte: Ceci n'est pas le funk.

I was very disappointed in this track. After reading the listening party reviews I expected a lot more funk, and this just doesn't deliver for me. It's not necessarily a bad song, it's just not as funky as a lot of people seem to think it is. Partially because of the disco/big band horns, and partially because of the lyrics. No way would they bump this in the clubs I go to in New York.

I'll bet your ass sung along to "shake it like a Polaroid picture" when Andre 3000 said it. Now didn't you?

But the problem is that "shake it like a Polaroid picture" was original when Andre 3000 made up that catchphrase, what, 4-5 years ago? Prince using "shake it like a juicy-juice" makes it sound like he's just biting off a phrase that someone else came up with a few years ago to try and stay relevant (same with his use of 'baby mama'). Prince should have been the one who came up with shake it like a Polaroid picture...not recycling it into juicy-juice.

And what the hell--between Juicy-Juice and Raisenets in his mouth, Prince sounds like he has the diet of a 10 year old. lol (Still love ya P! razz )

.
[Edited 7/24/07 21:22pm]

Actually, P and the Time made alot of Polaroid references around 82 - 85 on wax and in concert. When he did Arsenio around 93, he took a bunch of polaroids of the band and audience.

LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE This song and is my favorite on the album.

But the one thing I'm not thrilled about, that Prince has a tendancy to do is, add a break in the song before the end (ESPECIALLY IF IT'S A FUNKY JAM). You are groovin', at this point it has gotten good to you, and there is a freakin' break in the song!!! Though it's a short break, it kills the rythm on the dance floor, it does.

Besides that, I love this song and can't get enough of it. As much as I love "Get on the Bus", if this would have been on 3121 instead, the 3121 album would have been perfection.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

i thought the same thing cause if this song is funk ..then 3121 the song must b heavy metal

I knew he was holding out. This sets him apart from the pack of wannabees. It's is my new song; P Control was the last song I enjoyed this much. A little old Prince, a little new. Dance diva, fantastic horns, excellent rythm section. More dance songs like this please.

I gotta be honest..I like it, but when I first heard it, I thought it was a mix between Jamiroquai and Prince's song Just As Long As We're Together. The song has grown on me and occupy the #3 spot as my favorite song on the CD(behind LION OF JUDAH and PLANET EARTH)
