vainandy said: Very true. Men, whether in the straight or gay world, are whores. I can see the romance aspect of being with a woman mainly for companionship because it does get lonely sometimes and all these men want is sex, and then....next....they move on to the next guy. It would also be more fun to live with a girl than a guy because there would be a lot more in common. I'm not sitting and watching a damn boring ass football game with NO man. I've learned to be a whore just like them. Give me the dick and then take your tired ass home. I'll find me a woman to hang out and spend time with. yeah I like guys just fine, but I feel like I relate to women more as friends. I'm like you, I don't want to scream at sports. Actually it doesn't work out that well being straight, as my girlfriend doesn't want me having all female friends for obvious reasons My Legacy

luv4u has no luv for me and locked my thread earlier and referred me to this one. Okay, here I go again trying to post my "Prince's future-baby-mama" beware!!!" thread in hopes to make luv4u happy.
For everyone who loves Prince no matter if he's right or wrong, doesn't have to go on reading. For the ones who don't mind me criticizing him, continue! While I like the melody of FBM, I am thoroughly disgusted with the lyrics. Does anybody remember the song "Let's have a baby" from the Emancipation album, where our man is trying very hard to convince Mayte, that she is the only woman on this planet, that would qualify as his future-baby-mama? What was he thinking when he wrote his new song. Did he forget that he had a baby, as well as a baby-mama? Now all of a sudden all his former lovers weren't ggod enough to have his baby and fooled him 4 a minute. Like Mr. Innocent had nothing to do with the break-ups. According to Mr. Goodnight his next baby-mama has to put up with his crap, in order to keep him.(gotta bend with the wind but don't break) And if she's a good girl, he takes her to Paris, London, Africa, San Lucas, and Mexico. I bet, that will make up for all his shortcomings (no pun intended!) Then he goes on bragging how "all his future-baby-mama's girlfriends will hate her, cuz they can't have her man." Where does he get the nerve to call himself a man? How can somebody at the age of almost 50 come up with such immature and callous lyrics? It must be very hurtful for Mayte to hear this song. Thank God, she's no longer with a self-centered, heartless prick(who claims that he believes in God and gives out bibles at his shows.) For somebody who claims to know "the truth", he sure doesn't act like it. How sad! love the one who is Love!

Sometimes artists write songs about a situation, but it doesn't *necessarily* mean it's a *real* situation. We'll never know that unless Prince makes it known.

You might be right, but over the past 29 years Prince poured his heart out in his songs and for the most part his lyrics told the story of his life. He himself said so in an interview. Something like: if you know my songs, you know me. Why should this song be any different. He's single again and on the prowl. This is a good time to convince a future-baby-mama what a good catch he is. He's not getting any younger and needs to hurry up if he wants a child. Anyone else think this song sounds like Tomorrow from Annie???
Especially if you whistle the harmony... The sun will come out tomorrow, betcha bottom dollar that... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I was so bored, and the lyrics were basically less poetic even than My Humps. It was as if he had absolutely nothing to say, but just felt he should write something. "Sitting down to write this song/getting out my guitar/put some weed into the bong/writing how pretty you are." There's not even really a melody. FBM, despite the unfortunate title, actually feels a little like a song. My Legacy

Uhh, GiGi, I think you're reading FAR too much into this without actually KNOWING who and what Prince was thinking when he wrote the track. You know what they say about people that assume?
I do think FBM will be a R&B hit! It's got that slow groove vibe going. Get the funk up!

Right now, you're just speculating until Prince says what or who it's about.

personally....i like his contemporary R&B smoove jams like Adore, Damn U, Insatiable, Call My Name and even Satisfied (the bluesed up version) but this song seems to try too hard
fortunately most contemporary r&b stations no nothing about real music so it is getting some airplay.....good for prince

A DEFINITE next release on the R&B stations. A smooth sound that may alienate Prince fans who aren't into R&B. It seems Prince goes thru this with every album. He'll crank out the rockers, then pause to satisfy his r&b fans with the smooth ballads and dance hits. That's what makes him THE MAN! Baby's Mama: Potential #1 hit.

I still would like to know just how Prince is dissing Mayte....
Is it because he says that all the other women before weren't good enough to be a baby mama?? I think Mayte is exempted because she IS his baby's mama... she bore his child. Sadly the baby died... but the baby did have a mama and a daddy... so I don't think Mayte is included. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

Does a person that has sexual attraction to the same sex, yet never conciously acknowledges it, nor act on it... is that person considered homosexual? I think so because I know from my own experience. I never acted upon my true sexual desires until I was 22 years old, even though I got rock hard at the mere sight of a dick since the age of 5. I went out with girls but had absolutely no sexual attraction to them whatsoever. I absolutely refused to accept to myself that I was gay. I told myself lies like..."as long as I never be with a man, I can still be straight". It wasn't until I was 22 till I couldn't stand it anymore and had to get me some dick. I can totally see someone like Prince never acting upon his true desires because he's so obsessed with religion. At least I didn't have that issue holding me back. Andy is a four letter word.

the verses of I hate U, the rythm of When 2 r in love, plus a very good own merits, makes this ballad so beautiful.. a great melody (a melody take another and then take another... doing an ethereal and eternal swing... whats a hurry?) ... nothing new, but again: done better this time.

Strange, this one is a kind of auto-parody to me. Nothing really new here neither in the melody nor rythm. Absolutely well done, it's true, but I can't stop thinking it's just a lazy Prince doing what he already knows and has many times shown us... Not a bad song. About the lyrics, I don't know how to understand them, Mayte was so beautiful... and must have felt so sad. I prefer Somewhere here on Earth.

It think that "Future Baby Mama" can be categorized in the same category of songs like "Adore", "Do Me Baby", "International Lover", etc. I love the song due to the fact that he went back to his roots and make a song that not only you can feel the words but can also make good love to. Thanks, your royal badness.
