Here we go:
Chaos 10- my favorite I Like it There 2- I don't Delores 9- quirky, unheradled single Same December 9- love it! Right the wrong 0- Oh hell no! Zannalee 10- great! I Rock 0- this song certainly doesn't Into The Light 9- gorgeous! I Will 8- touching! Dig U better Dead 8- I used to adore it, but I've cooled off a bit Had U 9- wicked cool Unfortunately, the 3 songs I despise taint my impression of this album. The album starts off really good and "Had U" is a pretty cool way to wrap things up, even though it's not really a proper song. But there's nothing wrong with not making every song proper. It's often what gives an album life. The rest is mostly a fun ride, with some really oddball stuff; and in this case I don't mean oddball in a particularly nice way. I love how Prince gets loose, but I'm a greedy bastard. I also what him to get loose on great material that will stand the test of time. Interesting Desciption of CD. Oddball sums it up. C&D is just an out and out Prince classic that grows on you over time. It should get the praise it deserves. I always love listening to it in the car, its a real "on the road" album... Its also funny and sarcastic, and probably his most "rocky" album. The thing I dont get is why so many people dont like right the wrong, it is so cool - a really inspirational mix of blues, country and rock which is an integral part of this record.. from start to finish it leaves me with a really buzzed out feeling of euphoria. its a great song! I love all the songs on this album, with the possible exception of Zannalee, which I just can't really get into. But the rest of the album I love. Dig U Better Dead and I Rock are almost always on my iPod for the gym. They're great to work out to.
Still, there's something about this album that's weird. Somehow it's less than the sum of its parts.

I Like It There - 6 (love the line u know how much i love u more than my hair) Dinner With Delores - 5 The Same December - 9 9perfect tune 4 michael b's rock style drumming) Right The Wrong - 5 (the breakdown is the best part) Zannalee - 8 (something was lost between the video version and the studio) I Rock Therefore I Am - 10 (give me that funk!!!) Into The Light - 8 I Will - 10 Dig U Better Dead - 8 (a toke or 2 wtf? 1 minute u'r hot tell the truth and u'r not) so true Had U - 5 (not really high on this song) man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

What a desperately disappointing album.
Chaos is a lazy re-working of the end of the live version of Peach... I like it there - dreadful...you'll never hear this played at the o2...it's filler. Dinner with Delores - the only decent track on the album, and even then it's pretty light and fluffy. The Same December is a half baked demo that would never have made it onto an album were it not for contractual obligations - Prince hints as much in the sleeve notes about the album's content. Hearts and toilet bowls - enough said! Right the wrong - yeah the breakdown is good, but his tongue is placed firmly in his cheek for the rest of it...he makes fools of us all with this bitter country rock parody! Zannalee - could have been good...but then why bother. At least there's humour in the background in a kind of 'definitely masturbating' kind of way a la All the Critics on 1999. Into the light and I will are again half baked ideas...Rosie Gaines is the best thing on those tracks - I feel 4 her! I rock therefore I am - I can't hear an iota of funk on that track, it sounds dated already and very 90s (and not in a good way). C&C music factory anyone? Dig u better dead - more needless bitterness and throwaway track (another one you won't be hearing in live, probably ever!) Had U - not bad at all. A lame effort by a massive talent - he'd be ashamed to put this out in his current frame of mind. Good riddance to C and D. T
