I'm always happy to hear new music from Prince. I love that he keeps putting out new stuff. But sorry, I just don't get all the W&L excitement. I'm happy for those of you who are happy about this, but I don't see how their collabs were any greater or lesser than any other Prince music.

I guess a lot of people are hoping for one or two of those dreamy, psychadelic pop gems that the three of them came up with in the mid 80s.
Which probably means that a lot of us will be disappointed. But let's hope not.

Whatever it is. I love new Prince albums, even if I tire of them after a while, whilst I'm still into them, I get musical bliss for that entire time.

Is this big news? We already knew the album was going to be released. Do people like Wendy & Lisa that much? They screwed up the Parade album as far as I'm concerned and when Prince kicked them to the curb, he was able to make his masterpiece, SOTT.

They were OK, but just diluted his talent. I'm sure they have a token appearance on this album, but not more than that.

The whole Musicology feel that existed when he was with Columbia was great. Add Wendy and Lisa to the mix, and it could me another big album for him. However, can Columbia get him radio airplay in the U.S. (which was the case with the Musicology singles)?

Well, I was wondering when someone like you was going to pop up and rain on everyone's Parade (no pun intended lol ) Yes you are entitled to your opinion, but would it be so hard to just let everyone who are excited about this news just have fun posting their joy without adding the negative comments? shrug just sayin' wink

Co-sign. I'm afraid that W&L + Prince lovers are setting themselves up for disappointment...all this says is that they appear on the album, not some full out Revolution reunion.

I'll laugh if the song they collaborate on is the worst one on the album. giggle

i fully expect it to be like those special appearances on RAVE, where the guest artists were mixed WAAAAY down. we'll be like, "did you hear that? i think i heard wendy's voice, or maybe it was a finger cymbal..."

but hey, it's the thought that counts. nod

You can't be serious. Diluted his talent? Do Prince fans like Wendy and Lisa? That's like asking do we like the color purple. The Parade album was a GREAT album and one of his best IMO.

You don't seem to have that much knowledge on how SOTT actually came about, but I can tell you that W&L did not hold SOTT back one bit. They actually had been a part of most of the material that ended up on SOTT.
