It's 21 shows (i have the press release in my hands) - opening with the 7 shows at the o2 arena. The other 14 have yet to be announced.

on his own website 3121.com it says right now that he'll perform:

14 august

that's a 2 week span. i doubt he'll play another 14 shows in the
remaining week, lol.

Prince to play 21 London concerts

Prince will play his first gig at the O2 arena in London on 1 August
US performer Prince is to play 21 concerts in London this summer, his only European dates of the year.

He is to spend a week at the O2 arena - formerly the Millennium Dome - with tickets priced at £31.21, a reference to his album 3121.

He will also play at a number of far smaller venues to make seeing him "affordable for everybody".

The 48-year-old, known for hits such as Kiss and Raspberry Beret, has prepared 150 songs to perform on the tour.

And he hopes to be joined on stage by soul singer Amy Winehouse, having declared himself a big fan.

"I love London," he explained at a press launch. "I've had some of my favourite shows here."

An "extended stay" had been arranged because during his last tour in London - in October 2002 - "a lot of people didn't get to see me".

Prince - who famously changed his name to a squiggle symbol in the 1990s after falling out with his record label - added that he would be house-hunting in the British capital.

"As soon as I leave here I'm going to look for a place to live," he told journalists.

Tickets for the O2 arena gigs, the first of which will be on 1 August, go on sale on Friday at 0900 BST.

I think the interesting thing is whether this "free" CD will be an EP or a full blown new album.

I don't care what anyone says, he can't be trying to sell out that many shows, at full capacity, not 20-odd thousand each night, it will be a smaller set-up.
He aint THAT popular over here any more, not right now. Maybe they will have a better idea when they start selling tickets, then adjust the venue to suit.

It's nice that he realises that there were plenty of people who could not get hold of tickets last time, and is making the effort, not just putting his head in the sand.

7 nights at a 20000 seater arena...he will sell 140000 tickets no problem at that price....he was THEE biggest music star of the 80s...some people seem to forget this..millions of people have bought his records in this country ...he is now a music legend , he doesnt need hits to sell out concerts...his last album sold around 100000 copies in the uk without any hits or real promotion so it will sell out quickly i think..the first 7 nights anyway...

.if he is playing 21 nights at the same place then he will have problems trying to sell that amount of tickets but so would most big acts....so i dont know what his plans are...it might be that he will be playing smaller gigs as well...

Of the big ones, Heathrow is pretty easy for getting into central London (get the Tube). Gatwick is pretty easy too (outside London, but you can get the Gatwick Express Train).
London City Airport would probably be nearest to the venue, but limited destinations and I've never used it myself.

The question now is. Will the O2 seats be better than the VIP seat advertised on the 3121 website?
