SquirrelMeat,

For me, I come to the org to have fun. Whether it be to talk about Prince's nice ass, his outstanding talent or drooling over all the beautiful pictures of him. Who gives a sh*t. If you don't like the thread, don't participate in it. Sorry, I am not trying to sound mean, but it's fun here. Go to the politics/religion site if you want to get serious, I do.

Not everything here on the P site has to be about the science of his music. Though I do like to talk about that too.

There is enough B.S. in the world, so let's all have some fun.

I TOTALLY AGREE...I CAN'T TALK ABOUT PRINCE WITH ANYONE ELSE AND I LIVE IN HIS TOWN....I COME HERE TO TALK ABOUT ANYTHING. IF I DON'T LIKE THE POST I WON'T PARTICIPATE OR I'LL START MY OWN.

Nicely put Baboo and Girl66.

1- Nurse and Dance have posted marvelous pictures. I can't stop thanking them for that since I have no skills when it comes to picture search or post.

2- I also like how some orgers keep their sense of humor and make me laugh out loud even if they go off topic.

3- Who are we to judge the quality of a thread anyways? Don't we have rules stating clearly what should or should not be said? Don't we have enough moderators keeping an eye on everything? Let's let people express themselves!!!

the reason why is that there is no news to talk about. This sort of thing happens on all fan sites in which there are lulls between news items. Since Prince isn't Madonna who keeps herself in the news constantly, there isn't much to talk about.

Sometimes I'll see a thread title that doesn't remotely interest me, or one that even annoys me a little. You know what I do? I don't read it! (Same goes for GD, good lawd!)

Prince has fans of varying ages, musical knowledge, and levels of fanship. Everyone has the right to talk about Prince in their own way. Prince is a very private person, so pretty much all we can do is speculate on the meaning behind songs, and the details of his personal life. Some people on here think they know Prince better than he knows himself, which is far more annoying than commenting on something we can all see (like his hair and clothes).

Some threads do cross the line, but like I said, I'll just ignore them, wait for a mod to lock it, or watch it fall off the first page.

I enjoy the forum no matter what people post. I have noticed that some people are silly, lots of you are fun, quite a few folks are horny (lol), and some people will just about virtually slap you down if you don't live & breathe every Prince fact ever. You take the good with the bad but if I don't like something I just skip over it instead of putting it on blast... when Prince attends and event or plans a show people talk about that until the next "sighting". I believe everything is relevant to the people posting & responding. shrug

Thats what I thought, but never actually said. If thats the case, and P is bringing in the younger crowd, then great, I'm all for that.

But do they have to have a labotomy before they post?????

I agree with you whole heartedly. I'm all for fun threads too but damn near every thread disolves into a post a picture or a "he's so sexy" drool fest and it gets old, and I'm a female saying this. It was suggested we have a age limit for joining the site. I'm all for that too.

Heck I'd even go with making a new forum for young folks and new fans so they can go to town posting the same damn 62 pics of the man over and over again thread after thread.

I feel ya. I think it's a combination of NPGMC closing; newer, younger fans, and slow time in the Prince music world. I've been hang out at HQ more these days. (Still love me some org though...just not booty! booty! booty! threads 24/7)
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

It was a joking suggestion of 18. However, as I stated above those that are relatively new fans or new to this site need have their on forum for those types of threads.

I totally agree with the topic. Some forums aren't really interesting enough to reply and some aren't created without checking out other threads with similiar topics. Altough I've been in and out of P.Org since the beginning I've seen forums created for no reason. I'd prefer threads with news and information that has meaning. Now, the pics are NICE and I do reply to those threads especially if there are NEW pics. Some others I'll reply just for fun.

I disagree, I've only been here a couple months and have been a fan for 25 years and these threads are in the right Forum, we are talking about Prince. We have our own threds, that is enough, we don't need to be moved to another forum, jmo, of course. wink

I will agree that redundancy is annoying, but mods usually lock those up. Still, this is a public forum, and people can say what they want (within the limits of the rules). If some people are restricted and censored simply because their threads are not news worthy or deemed "interesting", that will be a huge shame, and I cannot support a site that would do that to fellow Prince fans.

Christ! What has happened to this forum? Is everyone bored, or have we been taken over by the NPGMC sheep crowd? Has the superbowl brought out all the MJ fans looking for a new home?

Look at the first page of threads in this section. Its becoming a freakshow.

Anyone got any guesses why?

No lately it's been her sold out line at H&M. Madonna is in the news all the time. She is constantly busy. And with a new album due by Nov, she'll be ramping up again.
