Doesn't sound like a missed out on anything.

A pitty P neither won nor performed. But thanks for the pics, he looked good. Those Versace sunglasses are hott! cool

Didn't expect him to sit there with Tamar, but that's nice. He looked like he really enjoyed it all.

I am surprised so many thought the show was terrible. I thought the performances were some of the best in years. Byonce was the worst I think. Seems like she had some type of malfunction at the end when she was singing a note that didn't end before the next one started. Was she lypsincing? Plus I'm tired of her now. She needs to go marry JZ and start a family and go sit down for a few years. I'm sick of seeing her everywhere.

I've never thought Mary J was all that. And there was a time I was shocked that she even got a recording contract, but she sounded much improved since her last performance. The screaming at the end was a Janice Joplin tune, and that's the way Janice sang it, too. I thought MJ did a pretty good job considering she's not a really strong singer.

I even enjoyed the Dixie Chix. I'm not a fan of country music, and I had never heard that song before last night, but damn, I liked it! They even seemed shocked that they won so many awards. Half the time they didn't know what to say on stage, making for a very awkward acceptance.

Gnarles Barkley sang the song just as it sounds on vinyl. I enjoyed it, too.

Now, Chirstina Aguleira! DAYUM! That white girl can sang! OK, all you naysayers, give her her props! Sure, maybe it would have been more appropriate for a brother to sing the song, but girlfriend threw down! And all of you talkin 'bout all the screammin, that's the way the song is sung, dammit! James sang it like that. Lawd knows James liked to scream, too! She even had his moves down! Give it up, ya'll!

Even Smokey kept it mostly on key. Although he looked like he was on some kind of drug...eyes were kinda weird looking...glassy maybe?

Oh, and I almost forgot. John Mayre (?). Did you see the look on Prince's face after his solo? I thought, "Awww shit, Prince be madddd!" But gotta give it up to the lil white boy, too. He done real good! I thought he was the best out of the three. I might just have to buy his CD!

Totally agree.

I am surprised so many "real music" lovers around here didnt realize that the Christina performance was an homage to James -- screaming was appropriate.

and John Mayer's solo was HOT. I am now a fan.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of screaming if you can SANG! And I gave props to Chrissy and Mary J. in a former post. If anyone remembers Soul before it became R&B, screaming was a big part of Soul music and Blues. Wilson Pickett, James Brown, Tina Turner and many of the old Blues singers who were called "Screamers" (somebody's gonna help me with this cuz my memory ain't working today). This is where Rock got their screamers from - Blues and Soul music, so there ain't nothin' wrong with screaming. It's apparent sloppiness is what makes the emotion felt in the song. If you want perfectly smooth rounded notes, then try Broadway. I'm not a fan of Chrissy and Mary J. but I can't anything bad about them. As long as they are screaming on key, then its alright. In my humble opinion, that is.

I've seen Tamar in person, and she is very pretty. Some of the photos and vids that we see of her don't her justice at all. Personally, I think that some of the makeup that she was wearing when performing with Prince was not right for her. It seems that the make she is wearing now is much better.

God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is
