DA WRECKA STOW (guess what I fount) as ya'll call them "vinyl digs"
I went to the wrecka stow this past weekend the folks there know me & my taste so well that they had 2 records already stashed for me when I walked in the door this one because last time I was there I had bought No Jacket Required on accident thinking "In The Air Tonight" was on it this one because he knows I collect Prince now the only albums I NEED on vinyl are For You, Parade, and Batman.. I have all the others oh yeah V6 & A6 wouldn't hurt me either and that Glamourous Life LP by Sheila E and I will have all my purple favorites on vinyl I'm on right now "It" and "IIWYG" and "Strange Relationship" all sound wonderful with the crackles & pops because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

merci beaucoup the Face Value is mint fucking condition SOTT has some wear on the cover but the vinyl is great it only skips on one of the tracks did I mention I got em for $5 a piece? ***I meant to put this in non-Prince but I guess it is Prince-related in a way [Edited 2/12/07 9:21am] because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

"Play In The Sunshine" BTW... this vinyl seems to be better quality than tha CD I have (I have to turn my CD waaaaay up to get some "knock" from tracks like "Play In The Sunshine") whereas it knocks fine from the vinyl a quick question... are there any gatefold copies of this album floating around? I coulda sworn I saw this record a while back and it had the gatefold cover boggles my mind [Edited 2/12/07 9:29am] because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I'm sure it is almost everyone's too but I just think period was amazing. Great songs, great imagery, great movie. Having it in record format is really precious.

you know, I started to discover projects outside of Purple Rain about maybe 4 years ago I was in college... For You, Dirty Mind & ATWIAD were the first I found I didn't get into Sign O' The Times until maybe a couple years back I mean I always liked "UGTL" "ICNTTPOYM" and "Adore" but I had never heard the album once I heard it I didn't get the big fuss about it I don't think I fully appreciate an album of that era, until I hear it on vinyl (original format) SOTT took more effort to get into unlike a Dirty Mind or a Controversy but this album is really great from top to bottom only ones I can do without are "Slow Love" & "Forever In My Life" I know... now I'm anxious to find this concert movie to finally lay eyes on it... I remember as a kid when SOTT was out and the "UGTL" video was hot VH1 did a Prince thingthing one Saturday where they played all his videos I sat my handheld tape recorder right by the television speaker and recorded all my fav Prince tunes right there LOL one of em was "ICNTTPOYM" which I put together the video version is probably from this concert movie cuz when I got the album it was slightly different anybody know where I could find an mp3 of that version from the movie? I coulda sworn I saw this record a while back and it had the gatefold cover boggles my mind [Edited 2/12/07 9:29am] It sounds better because it was mastered with vinyl properties in mind, then that master was used for CDs for which it was not designed. The reason why so many people think Sign needs a remaster. I don't think there is a gatefold copy. The 2 lps should have come in 2 sleeves with pictures on one side and the lyrics on the other, did you get that included? The best reprint of the Sign O' The Times concert movie on DVD is available from amazon.ca in ntsc format by Atlantic Alliance and from amazon.co.uk in pal format by Network. But you sound like a guy who wants a bargain, not to pay the full price!

Every time I was trying to put a Prince CD on in the band room, he was there trying to put a phil Collin's album on. Of course I felt I should win...but phill is cool. Tho I used to laugh at him at the time.

DirtyChris said: metalorange said: Yeah,Cat. Can't believe some people thought it was Prince, it is clearly a woman's body. who thought it was The Kid? I've heard many people on the Org saying originally they thought it was Prince cross-dressing! The pic appeared without Prince's boot on one of the singles, Sign O' The Times maybe, this was before anyone knew or had seen Cat perform with Prince so I guess they thought it must be Prince on the cover of his own single... The Sign O' The Times concert is fantastic, you have to check it out. It's not really live as the music was re-recorded and then they mimed to it when it was re-shot at Paisley Park - but even so, visually and musically it is one of his greatest achievements.
