True. That was good. There were other moments for me as well. But '06 sure was a ballbuster. And not in a good way.

Nice job. Yes, at one point this was discussed as a third single. It was also proposed as a possible EP, a'la the Beautiful Experience. The original plan was to have TBE followed by The Lovesign Experience and then The Come Experience, with possible others to follow. Of course, WB wound up torpedoeing that idea when TBE was actually fairly successful. Seems they didn't want Bel-Mark making any more money off their artist.
At one point, there was some discussion of both Come and The Gold Experience (at this point simply titled Gold) having different versions of "Come" on each, and having it be the lead-off single to both albums (in a similar way to how Guns'n Roses had done with "Don't Cry" from the Use Your Illusion albums). Since WB was reluctant to drop both albums at the same time, this idea was also scrapped. Shame, as I'd love to have seen the single you have here have been a reality. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Beautiful artwork, mr.
I miss that "What's My Name"/"Come"/"Endorphinmachine" medley he played live prior the release of the album, though... That was the first time I ever heard those songs; that pound of Michael Bland's drums still works for me...

GangstaFam said: So one would wager a bet that Prince had the song "Come" planned as the 3rd single from its parent album.
With extra versions floating about and included on various projects of his during the time such as The Beautiful Experience film and the Glam Slam Ulysses stage show, there would have been plenty to warrant a CD single in late 1994 or early 1995. And how hot would it have been? Well, my over-active imagination had to find out. Here's what it came up with... The front cover: The inside sleeve: The back and tracklist: The disc: I could play "What If?" all day. It's fun. What are some of your current Prince projects? Where ever it is that your imagination has been residing of late, please keep it there! Fabulicious!!!!! Music is the language of the spirit. omg. this is exactly what i always imagined it to be like,
with images from the Sacrifice of Victor book and all them cool versions, including a live one! still don't understand how this could not have been put on the streets. perhaps prince thought the other versions of come were too good to submit to warners (for ownership reasons), as with Days Of Wild (imo). oh golly, make a days of wild one now i'm gonna put the songs on my player in this order and make believe i own the single i know, i'm pathetic, but hey, it's 93-95 era prince and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

There are a whole buncha singles I'd love to do. But I'm actually thinking of going back to the drawing board to make this a whole remix album called "Come...Again". I'll letcha know how it goes.

I'll letcha know how it goes. ooh that's a great idea! now you're getting me sucked into this whole era again. i just know that i'll be making alternate come/gold experience playlists all of the weekend again lol. somehow i always felt that if come would have had a more gripping, shorter lead off song and a more defined album closer, it would be much more highly regarded by folks. even if he'd closed it with Strays of the World. at least it would have had a decent end. Orgasm just ruins the momentum the album's been building up to. it leaves you feeling very much unsatisfied.. plus with the long version of Come as an opener it is demanding on the listener to sit through it. a short, kick ass opener would do a lot to rectify that. for instance Interactive or such. Interactive Come Space What's My Name? Pheromone Loose Papa Lovesign Dark Da Bang Race Solo Letitgo Strays Of The World something like that. although that has a few flaws as well. i'll have to think about it some more at home. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
