Do you mean the song Lovesexy or the entire album? The song is one of his funkiest(beautiful horns and wicked guitar solo) and the overall album was super too. [Edited 1/8/07 6:14am]

I remember first time I played it and on the first listen, ' No' sounded just like one big mess; a fascinating mess, but nevertheless one big mess.
Once I got into it, however. . .

Once I got into it, however. . . I had a hard time with that album at first too. It was the first one I properly owned and I put it away for a couple months and focused on Batman and Graffiti Bridge instead because my young brain couldn't assimilate what I was hearing on Lovesexy. Today, it's my favorite.

I do it everytime I want my friends to listen to Prince's music, I just easily record both CD's from SOTT into one 80 min. blank recordable CD and give it to them, it fits perfectly!

The production on Lovesexy pretty much ruined that album for me. Prince overproduced the hell out of that album. That being said, Lovesexy does contain "Anna Stesia" which is a truly great song. I think many of the Lovesexy songs got better on the Lovesexy tour. The title track in particular. "Lovesexy" live on that tour was classic Prince. "Lovesexy" on the album just sounds overproduced to me. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it

Lovesexy is not overproduced. It's one of his best work of art. With Lovesexy Prince created a sound that we haven't heard before. To put it another way: it's not music, it's a trip. Rain is wet and sugar is sweet.

What do you mean by "over-produced?"

"One of his best works of art"? Lovesexy is not even in the same league as albums like Purple Rain, 1999, Sign O' The Times, or Dirty Mind. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it

It was a favourite when I first became a fan. Not so high up on my list now but still enjoyable enough.

I think this album is very OTHERWORLDLY. He takes me out of whatever I am involved in and I just fly away. I love all the movement in those songs.... voices, instruments, screeches, sexy talk, God talk, etc. It might be an album that only die hard fans could love/understand. I would think that it would sound pretty wack to a bystandered.

I LOVE how SEXY that album is!!! Get it!?! Anyway, a big mixture of the spiritual with the sexual. Love the song "Glam Slam." I actually loved his look then too, especially the long hair. The concert was musically incredible and very theatrical. During the end of Act I when Prince performed "Anna Stesia" and him and his piano rose on a platform from the stage, he began to preach on the concept of Lovesexy.

I danced to it this morning.
"I've got to tell the world, I just can't keep it to myself, NOOOO!". Sometimes I think it's shit and brilliant at the same time. I Wish U Heaven is on another level.
