One of my ALL-TIME Prince favorites.
I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

The whole Lovesexy thing I loved! I know alot of fans hate it but the album, tour, everthing sums up exactly what I love about Prince. I really get a kick out of the gaudy eighties wardrobe and the indulgent stage show and the sickly sweet pop sound! razz

Umm... krystal... in retrospect those live-outfits were rather 'silly', dont you think? I mean Prince as a black and white Robin Hood?

Yeah but it was the eighties! People thought alot of strange things were cool back then...it's kinda charming in it's unassuming way...like "Omg lets wear polka dots and write our name on our clothes! Oh and let's not forget to write Minneapolis too! Yay! We look so cool don't we??" It's kinda cute when you look at it like that. razz

I love LoveSexy. It's second only to Parade in terms of my all-time Prince albums. I understand why other fans call out SOTT or 1999, but LoveSexy's just that shit!!!

It's OK. It's probably the best album during those early years after he changed his style after "Purple Rain".

First concert of his I ever saw. I love everything about it, all the songs, the over-the-top clothes, the band, the sentiment behind the album. It's the perfect capper to the '80s. Dirty Mind to Lovesexy is an amazing trip and transformation.

There is a "Tracked" version, then someone out in Cali remastered it. So there's like two versions out there somewhere.

The remastered version sounds alot better imo.

i have a tracked bootleggage version (or 'fan-remastered', whatever) and it sounds great. i also have a 'fan-remastered' version of the black album that sounds unbelievable. i have the SOTT one, too - i was more impressed that they edited the whole album down to one disc than anything else. smile

I have both BA and Lovesexy remastered boots, but I gather my system is pretty shitty to be able to fully enjoy their
quality.

I've said before and I'll say it again, no one (in my opinion) could touch P from 84-88. That era was magical for me, lovesexy was the pinnacle of his zenith. He's returned and has been re-born with his beliefs and his approach to music nowadays but lovesexy was the one, till my day is done.

I made my own tracked version in iTunes. I figured out the start/stop times of each track and imported each song separately. Worked great!

I had to snip a few seconds off here and there - but my intent was to create separate tracks for random play. Of course I also have the original continuous version for when I want to hear the whole album intact.

I can't tell you how much added enjoyment I've gotten from being able to listen to a specific track on Lovesexy without fast-forwarding!

Lovesexy is 5 stars out of 5 . . . it ranks with 1999/Purple Rain/SOTT as his masterpiece albums.

To your information, there ISN'T a remastered tracked version of Lovesexy.

In some european countries (The Netherlands, Germany i know about) the CD has been released as a tracked version, but the mastering, and therefore the soundquality is the same as the non-tracked version.

Today i was listening to Lovesexy and it sounded more 'thin' then i rememberred, the bass isnt really deep, and because of the flat mix the many layered chords and melodies dont sound seperated enough all of the time. That makes this one of the Prince-cd's that need remastering the most (the others being Around the world in a day, Parade and Sign of the Times)

You're right; the tracking comes from Europe. I never knew LS wasn't tracked until I read you guys complaining on here. lol

BUT fans have remastered this version using amateur tools and circulated it; they basically just put nice effects on it to add bass, etc. It's not a great improvement. Not worth the download. The fan-remastered SOTT on the other hand...

so the SOTT one sounds a LOT better than the Lovesexy one?

Here in Italy i bought Lovesexi Cd 15 years ago and was not tracked, but i bought the cd a month ago and is tracked but no remastered,so i bought another Lovesexi from another store in Italy and is tracked too.I think Warner tracked it For European countries to sell it better...just an opinion!
