Well, everyone wants to be happy. Maybe he just wants to stay friends, maybe they'll get back together, maybe he realized we can make mistakes and start again. Mayte is latin and doesn't hold grudge for a very long time. They moved on in their lives and might realize they still love each other. I really wish the best for or to both of them.


Now, I really wonder what Mani feels about all this. She took the man from Mayte. Mani was in charge or redecorating his house while Mayte still lived in there, she got closer to him and Mayte decided to leave him. Good for her! Then, he might want to try again.

Maybe he was being polite, as one of you said; maybe they're even still friends.
Why is she so hated? I'm curious.

That's a good question Red. I'd say it's out of jealousy again but it's normal to feel this way. We want Prince to ourselves and don't like him sharing with someone else. It's hard to judge someone we don't know personally but he's old enough to chose who he wants to be with. Besides, nothing is showing they are really back together. Hugging or kissing on cheeks doesn't necessarily mean people are intimate. Latin people kiss all the time and Mayte is latin.

I admit I wasn't a hard core fan during those years, but when I look back at pictures from that time I think looks physically awful--too thin, too pale, generally unhappy. ALso, the album that he was supposedly 'born to make,' Emancipation, was largely inspired by her and it's weak, weak, weak. When I see videos from the "days of wild" with her and I just think it was a sad time for him on many levels. She and Prince were a good couple but after Tommy lee, she might have Hepititis!

I have a close friend who contracted hepatitis C through IV drug use years ago. (He went through a very rough course of therapy and is now free of the disease.) His doctors didn't even bother to test his wife because of the very low chance that she'd be infected.

Why is it so hard for folks to imagine that Prince and Mayte might be on friendly terms? It isn't unheard of. My ex-wife and I are still good friends, and often joke that we got a divorce to save our friendship (not far from the truth, I might add). My wife and I even went to dinner with my ex a while back, so it isn't totally impossible for divorced people to be cool with one another, especially years after the marriage has ended. Are they back together? Possibly, but I wouldn't assume this was the case from one friggin' hug!
