Why don't they just shoot it around Prince? And not show him at all. Like cutting to the people he's talking to, their reactions. Crowd reactions, etc. He could be done in all voice over. Only show him in long shots.

God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is

THIS lady is NOT Italian.

Prince's mother - Mattie Baker

We've been over this a million times. Prince's mother is BLACK..... His father is BLACK

Prince's father - John L. Nelson (1986)

Prince lied. Lied Lied Lied. As he ALWAYS did in interviews. It ain't no secret that Prince had the same colorstruck problems most black kids had when he was growing up. The difference was that Prince never grew out of it.
People's brains are stuck on that lady that played his mom in Purple Rain. That ain't his mother. HE AIN'T MIXED. He never was. Stop kidding yourselves. You know what I find hilarious about people on the org? People who soooo badly want Prince to be anything but Black and yet wanna call me racially biased because I refuse to allow y'all to bleach him into some white-ish ideal you created in your mind of what you think he ought to be. You wish that he wasn't Black but too damn bad. That's why you all dream of Johnny Depp and any other white actor you think of that would be acceptable in your minds to play him. He is Black. that is all. Nobody would ever think to name a Black actor to portray a real person who was White (no matter how tanned he was). That would absurd. But for me to pull your card on all of these damn white guys and say "no way" to that is ridiculous here.

Yeah, I wonder what Prince thinks of all his closet-dwelling-racist "fans"
I'm done.

Fact wink

smile He looks like mommy & Daddy. smile

Dave Navarro. I've always thought that Dave and Prince look similar.

That'd be kind of awkward though...

Hollywood does not worry about small details like that. They shoot scenes everyday with people standing on boxes, or what ever to make them appear short or tall or what ever is required.

Calm the fuck down. Prince is mixed, just not the way we saw in Purple Rain. AS a matter of fact, ALL OF US are mixed, even dark skinned black people are mixed, cuz the fact of it is, an ancestors did a whole lotta jungle-fevering in their day, whether by rape or by choice. ALL OF US ARE MIXED in some way, period.

As a few people have noted, my joke about Denzel playing Prince would not work. This is because there is no way this could be believable. Many people have argued that the actor would need to be black. While this would be ideal, it would not be able to be just any brotha (note Denzel again). You could not have a dark skinned brotha playing Prince because it would not be believable. It that sense neither would a white actor. Because of the obvious racial overtones the movie would take (the movie would have to cover the whole what race is he question to be believable), the person must be either light-skinned black or of mix background with light brown skin. Anything else just wouldn’t work.

Yes indeed. It would be more important to find an actor who resembled Prince, no matter what ethnic background, than choose a black man who didn't look like him. Who knows, maybe there isn't anyone who can do it!

Well I have never commented on P's ethnic background but now I will... I am mixed (my grandmother is of a lighter persuasion) but I consider myself 100% black do u know why? Because if they start lynching "niggers" my grandmother won't be a Get Out Of Noose Free Card! Thats how I judge everyone who has any black in them but have a problem with considering themselves as black. Tiger Woods=lynched Halle Berry= lynched. The same for Prince. As a matter of fact we'd probably be the first seeing as how we are a product of the long loathed concept of race mixing. I know its hard to feel as if you're denying a part of yourself to embrace or identify with another but this is America in the real world and we might as well face it race is a big issue and I consider myself black because I have had to struggle and face steretypes based on my skin color. When caucasians look at me funny, ( and they do in my town) I can't say oh but I'm really light skinned cause my grandma was white and they say "ok you're cool then". No when they look at me they see a black person. Prince has realized this about himself thats why TRC was giving some of his white fans so many headaches. He knows in the end he's still a brother who would be on the black side should a race riot break out.
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.

I think someone unknown would have to play him. The person whould have to be short (as in no taller than 5'6 at the most). I don't care how many camera tricks Hollywood uses. A 6' foot guy is still a 6' foot guy. And someone like P where a lot of his persona and stage presence is focused on him dancing and such (especially when he was younger) you can't fake a average size man of 6' or above for someone shorter. A I really would not want to see any CGI special F/X to simulate a short person when the shot calls for him dancing.
