I second u on My Sweet Lord...that song just explodes! Gotta love George...biggrin

Other songs that move me:

Let It Be- The Beatles

Don't Talk 2 Strangers (I agree on Prince's version...he really should do this one)

Angel- Jimi Hendrix

I can't decide on 1. disbelief

The life- Bring You back- I will - Wendy and Lisa...damn, the entire Girlbros album has moved me to tears at different times in my life...oddly enough, the most moving moment during that album (for me) is during Bring You Back, when the music is lowered and you hear an airplane fly in and out of the soundscape..the feeling of isolation and lost it conveys gets me everytime...

and then there is The Life..."How'd I get soo serious?"...*gulp gulp*

But...hands down the most moving song award goes to Bjork for "Next to Last Song" from Dancer in the Dark...I dont think I will again feel what I felt while hearing/seeing this song for the first time...The emotional arc of the Selma character and what she goes through is soo sadly summarized through this song...and then BAMM!! It happens!! I hate and love Lars Von Trier for making this movie...

U really annoy me.

I'm familiar with the "He's So Fine" lawsuit, which George lost. But he lost under the charge of "subconscious plagiarism", meaning that he did not deliberately copy a couple of notes. All he ended up doing was paying a fine...but b4 he was made 2 do that he offered 2 give up the rights 2 the song My Sweet Lord but they wanted the $$$. George did not let things like $$ and "ownership" rule him because detachment from all things material was the key 4 him.

Plus, if u ask me, the message of the song has endured any of the legal bullshit that song was dragged thru, and it's sad they had 2 challenge such a great song in the first place. IMHO, George was one of the first, if not the first person in popular rock 2 make the idea of God "cool" in music. B4 it wasn't always considered cool 2 sing about God unless u were in gospel or Christian music.

Learn YOUR history and please go 2 rehab...ur obsession with me is becoming unbearable.

Its really simple...I point out the complete stupidity of the seriously ignorant asses who "think" they are "the bomb" or that they are above reproach by dishing shit out but not being able to accept it..see Irish Echoe as well. Hence I become hated which tells me Im doing the right thang lol...some of my most moving songs:

Eye Luv Ya But I dont trust ya
When A Man Loves A Woman-Bette and Pecys
Zoom-Commodores
Just To Be Close To You-Commodores
Grand Progression-Prince
I'll Stand By You-Pretenders

First of all, unlike u, I don't go out and pick fights with u nor had I ever spoken 2 u b4 u started in on me in the chat and on the threads. There4 ur "see how it feels" logic is illogical because u initiated this little game of putting me on the defense all the time.

I really have no problem defending myself. I'm very capable and it also gives me the opportunity 2 display my musical knowledge.

But yet again, when u r proven wrong concerning my knowledge, u cannot admit it.

I'm 18 years old and very passionate about older music. I doubt u had as much insight when u were 18 as I do now, judging by the way u feel threatened that such a young person can defend herself. Perhaps it's because I'm female? I can't say.

What was that u said about me not knowing about "He's So Fine"...etc?

HMMM...

Most Moving Song You've Ever Heard?

Easy. That would have to be the Ballad of Sexual Obsession from The Three Penny Opera:

There goes a man. The gallows loom above him.
They'll get the quicklime mixed in which to shove him.
They'll put his neck just under where the noose is.
And what's he thinking of, the idiot? Floozies.

They've all but hanged him, yet he can't ignore that call.
Sexual obsession has him in its thrall.
She's sold him down the river, stripped him heart and soul.
He's seen the dirty money in her hand.
And bit by bit begins to understand:
The pit that covers him is woman's hole.

Then he may rant and rave and curse his ruin.
As soon as night falls he'll be up and doing.

Orgasm? Maybe so. What's ur problem? Ur mad at me 4 being moved by a certain song, instead of one of urs? I'm not u, I'm me. I'm sorry but I refuse 2 con4m 2 what u think is moving and what isn't. I admire ur taste in music, y can't u accept mine?

Plagiarised or not, that was only a few notes...and not even done on purpose. I'm looking at the big picture--and it's telling me that the song itself is more important than all the legal bullshit u prefer 2 focus on.

I'm sure George didn't do it maliciously. rolleyes
