Mr. Unaproachable?

Do any of u ever wonder why Prince is sooo unaproachable? We all know that u don't get 2 many (if any) chances 2 say something 2 him...God forbid u try n touch him! Why? What is it about him that makes people feel that way? Do any of u think that he would just b down right rude 2 one of us?

I don't think so,
A few years back at the first celebration, I met him in an "INTERESTING" way (My friend RIO can tell ya!) and he was very nice, shook hands and said a polite HI, so i think he'd be nice to anyone whon was polite and not actin CRAZY!

Thats my 2 cents!

Depends on what exactly you mean when you say downright rude. Some people here like drama and over-react to minute things, and certain threads/posts are still here that bears that out. Sometimes Prince.org is a hub of unsubstantiated rumors.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I dunno. For somebody that everyone considers so distant, he sure was open with his fans on the last tour - sandollars and demo CD's notwithstanding. I don't know of too many artists of his stature that bring their fans up on stage, take Q & A, solicit suggestions and feedback, or just chill and have a discussion about God or something.

Sometimes, I guess he's not into people. Neither am I, and I don't blame him for it. Christ, half the time even i can't stomach half the shit that goes on here, so imagine what it must be like for him to deal with some of these lunatics.

Well let's see:

1. There was one fan who threatened to come to a local show while he was on tour several years ago and kick his ass; that person got a visit from the authorities.

2. Then there are people like Divinity who act the fool and then blame him when he responds to them cooly.

3. There was the person who was banned from Paisley Park for grabbing his ass several years ago.

4. There are other fans who run up to him and scream in his face and grab all over him

5. Then there are the people who feel a "spiritual connection" with him and feel the need to let him know

6. Then there are the loons who try to follow him --- even when he trying to use the bathroom.

Because his fans can be incredibly freaky. Its one thing to have someone approach you normally, I'd imagine its another to have someone gawking over you and dumping their life story on you everytime they see you.

Hes a musician, not a psychiatrist lol.

Like anybody, I'm sure he just doesn't feel like being social sometimes, people shouldn't take it personally. But the only time I've ever had the opportunity to talk to him, at the Vancouver afterparty, he couldn't have been any more open and willing to interact. And I don't know about the 'not willing to be touched' thing, when we were talking with him, he would grab our hands to make a point or whatever. He was sweet. I'm not sure he liked me much, loudmouth athiest crashin' his party, but that's ok. smile

This is the stuff people don't consider & should when they criticize him for being guarded at times - he has to be, if not for his safety then for his sanity. If any of the things listed happened to any one of you on a REGULAR basis, you wouldn't run around hugging strangers either. Remember we ARE strangers to the man. Fans know him but he doesn't know most of his fans. And how talkative are YOU every SINGLE time you leave the house?

Seriously,if I were in his shoes I'd be cautious and Unapproachable. He has to be guarded and a little bit replaced from his fans to a degree. I wouldn't want him to not have Security with him. Too many weirdo's and you don't know who is a friend or foe. Caution has got to be there. He would be foolish not to be cautious. And he's far from foolish.

She is a fan who was at the Washington, DC soundcheck and acted a fool. Then she came on here and made a post about Prince making a fan cry, and basically lying about what happened at the soundcheck. Fortunately, several people who were at the soundcheck told what really happened at exposed her story.

He's always struck me as shy, eventhough he's seen billions of people in his lifetime> I still believe and have been told that he's very shy around people.

I heard he sustained a bodily injury once, from a fan grabbing him and not letting go. I think he sprained his wrist or something.

It wasn't me mr.green
