Just an FYI... This may have already been answered- but the Star Tribune in Minneapolis is 'the' paper of the city.. and consquentially of most of Minnesota. It's not a tabloid or anything like that.

though that CJ.. she has had it out for Prince for MANY, MANY years.. it's like a well-known hometown rivalry.. started because she kept jockin him too much and he cut her down and out as far as interviews and 'inside scoops'.. (hey she's not special.. how often DOES he give 'inside scoops'??)

Anyway- it made her DAY to report on it- and yes- it's confirmed as truth- KMSP news in Minnesota talked to court staff..

Well everybody there you go. I said it over and over until it was CONFIRMED they were still married. Now it has finally been CONFIRMED they are over. I wondered just like the rest of you, but still wouldn't say anything until proven otherwise. Maybe Prince has come to the conclusion that marriage isn't for him and for that comment in the last column where CJ says "Prince kicked Mayte to the curb" how do she or anybody know it wasn't the other way around? It sure sounds like in this case that Mani kicked Prince to the curb.

I wish both of them the best.

Okay, firstly, isn't she divorcing him? (Not that it matters that much--it's still the same result--but it's so annoying when newspapers don't even check the basic facts.)

Secondly, "Canadian bombshell" to describe Mani? I think she is pretty, but bombshell? When I think bombshell, I think of women who are much more voluptuous and also famous in their own right for their looks. While Mani is pretty, the reason she is 'famous' (and I use that word loosely here) is because of her association with Prince--not her looks.




PS. I am already so sick of everyone I know who knows I'm a Prince fan asking me about this. (Yes, I think it's sad, but I don't know any 'secret' details so what am I supposed to tell you?) I was really hoping this news would be overshadowed by Lance Bass coming out of the closet or the Brangelina/Shiloh wax portraits at Madame Toussaud's

When she wasnt at BET awards, I knew they were done... I think a good woman for Prince would be someone who is creatively artistic - musically- like himself. Being an artist myself, my husband and I have some rough moments because he doesnt understand that I need to go sit at the Piano and play a few chords of the song that is in my head. Can you imagine how it is for Prince?

It was difficult 4 us bcuz he had serious difficults 2 understand me and my head always between clouds. After months of desperation, hubby got the habit that I wake up in the nite and I need 2 play just few notes or few chords with piano or guitar....Now he knows that after I've played and practice all day Im tired and I NEED SILENCE 2 make rest my mind and he understands why Im nervous the days b4 a concert....My husband was good doing his better 2 understand me but there r ppl who dont wanna understand. Prince's Second Wife Seeks Divorce




MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Prince's second wife, Manuela Testolini Nelson, has filed for divorce from the pop superstar, his attorney has confirmed.

Patrick Cousins, Prince's general counsel, said Wednesday the case was pending. He had no further comment.

An attorney for Nelson did not return a telephone call from The Associated Press.

The Star Tribune reported on its Web editions Wednesday that the case was filed May 24. A court administrator told the AP the case was sealed on July 11.

Prince, 48, has rarely spoken publicly about his marriage to Nelson. He married dancer Mayte Garcia in 1996; that union ended in 1998.

The Minneapolis-based singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. He recently closed his NPG Music Club Web site, surprising many fans.

Very sad. They seemed to be a nice couple.

I do hope they don't lose their spiritual way along with their relationship with each other.
