The thing that strikes me strange on this whole divorce thread is that everyone thinks P is some kinda of sexgod/playa..and can go out and get anyone he wanted with a phone call and some bling.

Ms Nelson's lawyer Edward Winer said it was a difficult decision for her to seek the divorce, adding that she hoped for a "co-operative resolution". Prince, 48, has rarely spoken publicly about his marriage to Ms Nelson. His first marriage, to dancer Mayte Garcia, took place in 1996 but only lasted two years. His lawyer had no comment on the current proceedings. | |

It's disturbing that people are now blaming his relationship with Tamar for the split. Various people who have some remote connection to Prince's camp have been commenting right here on this website and HQ for over a year that he and Mani were done as a couple. Prince, full name Prince Rogers Nelson, and Testolini tied the knot in 2001, in a romantic ceremony in Hawaii, with Testolini taking the 'Purple Rain' singer's little known last name. It is star's second failed marriage. He was previously married to backup singer and dancer Mayte Garcia but their union was annulled in 1998. So far, representatives for Prince and Testolini have refused to comment on the couple's split. I wonder who "source" is? Gotta love the media for doing what they do. [Edited 7/29/06 5:36am] u are right. people can speculate all day long why the divorce, but the fact remains, none of us know him, none of know what goes on his daily life, so no one can say why. it could be something totally unrelated to indidelity. believe it or not, infidelity is NOT the number one cause of divorce in our country. unrealistic expectations and failed expectations are the number one cause early in a marriage, which given that she was a fan, seems very realistic. that is why so many people don't want to meet people like Prince, their expectation of the person is usually different than the reality of the person. lack of communication falls in the top categories too. infidelity is actually further down the list. | |

Prince strikes me as an idealist. He has this vision, you know?
When he was in Chicago with Tamar at the end of Feb. when he walked out he seemed sad. I said that to my friend who was there. When I got up onstage and was dancing next to him, I was thinking that he just got totally lost in playing his guitar, he went to his 'happy place'. Hehehe. It is hard enough, making love last, but to do it in front of the masses who have all these notions of his motives, wow. I think its natural to try to figure it out. Prince is this exquisite puzzle. I wish him healing and growth through this, I hope that he has good people around him who are concerned more with the man then the superstar, if you get me. Fanning Flames: What about DJ Rashida?
