I checked out a few hiphop sites for fun to see their thoughts and nobody is mentioning the 3121 performance at all so made no impact. The only time they mention Prince is for the Chaka tribute which they feel is a bunch of old legends passing the torch to the new guys like Chris Brown and Ne-yo. ugh They also feel the best performance of the night was Busta Rhymes... there is no hope for the future imo.

Honestly.....who cares about people who think Busta was the best performance? Prince was performing 4 those who KNOW. Let the young bucks have THEIR music.....we still have ours.

Yes, if those young bucks come near my neighbourhood with their hippety hoppety I will shake my stick at them! If I'm not napping, that is... It's not like it was in my day with real musicians with real instruments - new romantics with synths, oh yes...

EmancipationLover said: The tribute performance was alright, but I can tell you, that 3121 performance was THE BOMB!!! Absolutely fucking fantastic! The decision to add Tamar on vocals worked fine imo and helped to make up for the missing vocal distortions from the studio recording. Great performance, and great stage arrangement with the Asian vibe and all that. Anyone who doesn't like it should be punished with repeated listens to the forthcoming Paris Hilton album, lol!
I hear ya! EmancipationLover…. 3121 was way 2 funky. Prince ripped it. I showed my son the tape version of Prince performance and asked him how come the people weren’t feeling him. He said "believe me mom they’re feeling him". It was different than anything out there. The performance was absolutely outstanding and Tamar was right on time. Loved the musicians, Twins, and the stage set-up. The whole 3121 performance was Priceless and will be reviewed and talked about in years 2 come just like the Get Off, Assless pants performance.

I enjoyed the tribute to Chaka, so much. Prince's dancing was fun to watch.
As well as the "3121" performance. This portion may be snipped, but I have to say it...While we who are heavy in weight remain this way for whatever our reasons...it's really our own business & lives. I don't hear a word about "How big Stevie Wonder has become". Why? The good old double standard at work. "Rex is " I'm sure my BB sisters don't need me to represent them. I needed to express myself. Oh yeah & as for Stevie Wonder...I think he's fine, no matter what his size is. I'll ♥️ "LemonDrop" 2DN 💋 your "Sugar"

I just saw the BET performance for the first time right now. No dish, and no access to cable, i was lucky a friend taped this for me.
Maybe i'm spoiled. I loved seeing Prince but nothing can compare to live intimate performances and it only made me want to see him perform live, more. [Edited 7/8/06 14:27pm]
