New topic PrintableOnce again Tamar outfit was horrible. Then Twinz whatever there called, danced really well. I can't stand how Prince makes this funny monkey faces. I really can't stand it.
In the last performance it was funny how the guy from Black Eyed Peas was like trying to rap and trying to be all cool. Men what a show off.

Okay I just watched it again and I have to say that was a mesmorizing performance. Even if you look into the crowd you see people just moving to the time of that hypnotic beat of that song.
I never in my life would have thought that he would perform that but its still pretty cool. I think he was giving people a little taste of the late night jam!! THE CARDINAL HAS SPOKEN!!!

The performance of I Feel 4 U was one of the best I've ever heard - with Prince and Chaka both singing, a tight band and Prince playing rhythm guitar turned up loud in the mix - what was so cool is that it included the updated parts that Chaka's album version added (like spoken "Chaka Khan", Stevie's harmonica solo - played in person by Stevie!, and the turntables), but it was still authentically Prince - that's undeniable if you listen to his rhythm guitar playing on the bridge - my favorite part of the song! I can't help but think Prince was having a moment while he was performing it live with two of his musical heroes Chaka and Stevie, thinking just how far this song has come since he dropped the joint on tape 27 years ago, before most people had ever heard of him. He really looked like he was having fun! Great performance and I thought he went out on a limb picking 3121 for his only solo song - but he really made it work and won over the crowd too.

Right. I don't understand why people keep saying he should have sung Black Sweat. 3121 is cool. BS is lame by comparison...it would have been the same ole wack performance. I'm very critical of PRince but I thought this performance was beyond reproach. I really, really dug it. Compared to BS, 3121 has more interesting and mysterious lyrics and atmosphere. Yea, Daddy Rocked 3121!

OMG! I nearly shirt myself Prince, Stevie, Yolanda, and Chaka ALL ON THE SAME STAGE! AND PRINCE GOING NUTS WITH STEVIE WONDER!!! WOW! I also was EXTREMLY impressed with P's 3121 performance because he seemed to be a bad boy again. Like before he became a J witness and all saintly lol. It reminded me of "P control" at the VH1 Fashion awards.

If there was ever an argument against rap, it would be that idiot shitting out of his mouth over the credits.
Who was that tit? It still has that NPS-sheen, but 3121 sounded much better live than on CD. [Edited 6/28/06 2:14am]

Hehehe, the accaptence speech? I had to laugh so loud. Bet; "Please come, mr Nelson. We throw in the award of best R&B male. You can play with Chaka and Stevie and India and Yolonda. You can thank Jehova and even change the lyrics to I Feel For You to your own spiritual needs. Puleaaaaase, Mr Nelson. Oh, and bring them twins, mmm'kay? Hehehe, nah, serious. I loved the jam. Yolonda was the most amazing on stage there. She blew away even Chaka, vocally and even had the grace to feel embarrassed about it. You could tell. The 3121 performance was a lil bit shallow and I was so suprised when that rapper whom's name ayedunno kinda made that song HOT. I mean, I love it on album, but I had expected that jam to funk hard live, but it didn't. It was probably the first time I did not like Tamar's input. The beat of 3121 still gets me hot, though. Even though that intro jam is SO pre-recorded, it just POUNDS... [Edited 6/28/06 2:47am]

Prince was looking FLY! Loved all the outfits.
Talk about performing with a lot of stars. Incredible show! Amazing! Makes me really wish I could have been there The man can definitly play the guitar. All that was missing was some "aaaaaw baby, baby, it's just not feya!!!!" But was it only me who thought Chaka sounded terrible? No, apparently not. I understand how Diddy's son felt. haha. And what was she wearing?! Though, who cares, it's Chaka and it's "mainly a spiritual thing" lol. Don't know if 3121 was the best song choice, but he and the girls preformed it well so I can't complain. I liked the twinz' freaky dance. Some new things I haven't seen before. haha Again: Awesome performance! P can't go on like that without announcing a world tour, it's just not feya, it's just not feya!!!!! In the context of where Prince was performing and the placement of his performance, 3121 was not the right song to perform. After 3 hours, people would naturally be anxious to leave and hit the parties...Prince went out and performed a mid-tempo, ecletic, fan-type song to a crowd of non-fans. You could almost hear crickets chirping, in addition to what appeared to be a mass exodus from the auditorium.
He probably would have had a better response if: A) His performance was during the middle of the show or B)He performed only 2 minutes of 3121 and then broke out into Black Sweat. He was the only artist on the show that performed a song that wasn't a single. Even though Black Sweat wasn't a hit, people know about it because of the heavy video play on some of the video channels.

i think it's primarily her huge tits i mean, the rest of her looks kinda nice. look at her legs in the long boots, still fine and all. makes me think she's probably not as big as she looks cause her chest is just huge and makes it look that way. but where did she get them boobies if she had none in the above pic?? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Having just seen the performance over at HQ, I think it was pretty good. Great to see the likes of Prince and Stevie and Chaka onstage together. Didn't think Chaka sang as well as she usually does though, although that may have been because the audio was fairly ropey.
3121 was one of the first tracks from that album that got everyone worked up, talking about a return of Prince to an older sound. It's certainly a gutsy song for Prince to perform as it sounds so different to everything around at the moment, but I think he really pulled it off - live it was just such an in-yer-face grinding song. I actually really liked Will I Am rapping over the top at the end! It kind of added a fresh flavour, it's always good to see new acts happy to hang onto Prince's coat-tails, although Will I Am is a bit like a male version of Missy Elliot, appearing in short bursts on lots of other acts' music. It's clear Prince is trying out a new tactic in the pop market, of playing lots of different songs from the album trying to promote the album as a whole. It's sad, then, that it doesn't seem to be working and the album sales are not going up very much after all these performances. People just seem to like being hit over the head with the same brick these days before they will go out and buy the album.
