A 4 minute perfomance on AI is causing some folks to denounce one of the most gifted musician in modern history. I guess all of his accomplishments and achievements in the past 25+ were for naught. Poor Prince, always disappointing his fans. Being disappointed is not the same as denouncing Prince. I stick to my statement: this is the most disappointing moment for me as a Prince fan. It doesn't mean that I will sell all my Prince stuff or anything crazy like that. It's just the biggest nadir in the ride for me. But hey, being a Prince fan epitomizes the whole rollercoaster anyway, so I'm sure I'll be on the way up soon. Admit it...you were part of the crowd who complained that Prince disappeared and wasn't doing anything to support 3121

just my .02
i think Prince knew about this for weeks ... even when everyone was speculating about the whole "coach thing" ... weeks ago ... i bet it was just a situation where UNIVERSAL EXECs said ... " i dont think Prince wants to do ____ but he will do ____ .... way to go Prince ... i did NOT think he had it in him ... to get the final performance like that ... and surprise us ... i myself did NOT tape it ... and was NOT expecting it at that point .... It was an OK performance ... its been said ... but WHAT UP WITH THE DOO ??? hated that . also song choice ... not my favs ... but ... hey ... i do think it was a good maneuver .... last thing --- you can vote for Prince at the AI website ... if anyone feels compelled to do it .. i mean ... hell ... clay aiken is leading ... ugh

Yeah, and also nice to have him back on the "Prince" forum after he completely screwed up about Prince's record sales. It took him at least 50 threads in the "P&R" forum to recover from it. Though I must say I didn't even completely read his post. I knew the content anyway. Maybe we should start a "Bart impersonator" competition in the "site discussion" forum.

Dis is a business! Y'all ain't too far gone to see that.
I think his Soul Train performance from '94 or so was much worse than this.

The Mistress watched it.
The Mistress screamed like a twelve year old girl. The Mistress was in a fantastic mood for the rest of the night because she saw Prince, live on TV, and hadn't even expected to see him. The Mistress is happy. That's all, except that I wish I could spread my happiness to most of the rest of you. The Normal Whores Club

In five minutes, he sold more albums for himself that all the marketing Universal could have ever done. We claim we want him to be a success and then we shit all over him when he gets out there for the world to see. There is no jumping the shark for Prince to me. There is no Vegas Lounge Act Prince for me. I've followed the guy and been a fan for almost thirty years and whatever he wants to do, I'll be there. Thanks to the haters for freeing up the space closer to the stage for me. Girl, I ain't even paying none of these Monday morning quarterbacks no mind because we had us some FUN up in here last night. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Good surprise. Great moment for us all. Yes it was man, yes it was! The Normal Whores Club

Prince being on the show has nothing to do with approving of the show.
He's reaching down into the musical muck to hopefully retrieve a couple of lost souls, in true Christian fashion! My Legacy

*squeal* I'm so happy! Seeing Prince on AI last night was a total surprise for me since I wasn't online yesterday. lol... I heard the beginning of Lolita play, and I was like, "Hey, I know this song... It's, uh... uh... PRINCE!" Then I saw him on stage dancing and singing. It was great. I was bouncing in my chair and signing and laughing...

And I'm all and shit. The Normal Whores Club

Regardless, my own bias makes it so that American Idol is what I consider the worst avenue for Prince promotion. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!
