Nah- I thought he was a freak when I was a child. "A scary midget" is how I described him.

I was into MJ back then.

When I was a child I didn't even know who Prince was, I was into MJ and Madonna.

I didn't get into Prince till the mid 90's, I was about 15.

Not as a child. Michael Jackson was the one for me until I was 12, then Prince took over and he's still #1,
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

i vaguely knew who prince was when i was a kid, and when 1999 came out, i didn't make the connection that he was the same guy as the "i wanna be your lover" dude in the legwarmers and charlie's angel hair, but i was fascinated with his costumes and i thought the songs were great...it was my early fam phase...i was around 12 or 13, so i was more of a teen than a kid. shrug

Yes. Pretty much growing up (80s and 90s) the only artist I listened to consistently was Prince. I liked MJ but he didn't release enough music. I'd hear something cool on the radio from another artist, and buy the album (cassette) only to find that I didn't like the album. There was no internet at this time, so I couldn't really research or find music that I'd like.

I listen to more music now. The internet has made things so much easier.

No, I didn't much listen to Prince in highschool days. 83-88, or before or after for that matter. One day I was checking out diffrent types of Consert Videos from a Video Rental place, and I rented Sign of the Times video. The song "The Cross" caught my attention. It was all down hill from there.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Yes, Prince has been the one since i could barely speak. My Uncle got me in2 him from a young age b4 he passed away, and i have been a devoted fan ever since. Dont get me wrong i love all types of music and there are other decent singers out there but Prince is the One Artist that Stands above the rest.

Im sort of like this except i wasnt into madonna. I didn't kno about prince until i was 14 tho and that was a little less than two years ago. MJ was my childhood artist until one day i stumbled upon my dad's "The Very Best of" and as soon as all the songs grew on me i started buying the albums to which each song belonged to and thats how it got started smile and Prince is still my #1 favorite artist.

Thought he was talented but too weird till about 13 years old. Plus MJ was killing everybody with Thriller.

Then WDC came out and I thought "Shit, I'm gonna still be listening to this guy when I'm grown...."

I got into Prince with the help of my 3 older sisters at a young age....ever since Soft and Wet....like I really knew what all that was about then....but when I got schooled....then got in trouble in school for listening to it (went to Catholic school with psychotic nuns)...I was truly hooked....and am still going strong...about the only other genres that have aspired to Prince's throne with me are Jazz and HipHop....
He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

I became a fan when I was about 8 or 9...all thanks to a friend of my older brother who was really into Prince. I had a crush on him and I thought that if I liked who he liked he would think I was cool. Eventually my crush moved from him to Prince.
