From age 3 to age 12 It was all about Michael Jackson. When I turned 12 my dad took me to see the Sylvers, and it was all about Foster Sylvers. From 12 to 16 it was various teen stars. Then on March 21, 1983 I went to my first Prince concert. cool So from age 16 to this very second (age 39!) it is all about Prince! biggrin And I don't think that will ever change!

Not as a child. Michael Jackson was the one for me until I was 12, then Prince took over and he's still #1,

Same here. Prince was always too unfathomable for children to really make any sense of him. I hated him as a kid. MJ was always the kiddies' choice by a long way. Michael was playing a marketing game and Prince was more concerned with adventure, danger and strangeness. He spoke early on about not wanting a superficial audience, hence putting out ATWIAD 10 months after PR, dressing ridiculously and making everyone I knew think he was gay (these idiots of course never suspected MJ for one minute!)

Been a fan since 81. I may have been a fan even earlier and didn't even knew it. When I was 8 I wasn't really into disco but I did like I wanna be your lover. I didn't know to years later that prince sang that song.

Prince has been my favorite since 1979. Before him, it was Donna Summer.

Ahhh, The early years...

I was 13 (1983) and a friend of mine had "1999".
We listened to it for hours on end.

Then came "Purple Rain" and my life was changed, I lived to be Purple and follow the master known as P.

I watched, and still watch Purple Rain every chance I get.

I have a pretty good P collection of CD's. Just got 3121 and love it.
if I'm stuck in some groovy wet dream, don't pinch me, I'm diggin' the scene.

to his songs(nasty and freaky). and still like his music now.
