This thread is great. I've gone back to listen to so many of these...

Yeah, this is working out nicely.

It seems everyone has little parts that may seem insignificant to others, but mean a whole lot to each poster here. I am going back and listening closer to these examples.

Great stuff, keep 'em coming.

Lol, this is exactly like the thread I tried to start a couple days ago...but it sunk like wood. biggrin

Great minds think alike, I suppose! thumbs up!

That has to be the single most amazing, breath-taking, jaw-dropping Prince live moment! eek That sh*t is genius.

Got another one...the repeated "better love each other" line in "The Dance Electric" followed by that kick-ass rhythm guitar.

Wow, there are a lot.

Shh - The bridge when the band comes back in mirroring the intro followed by "Candle light? I don't think so. The cracls of the flame will just spoil my fly, besides I can be your fire baby, dripping all over you like a ball of wax relax and let go!

Shh - The guitar solo at the end.

The Dance - The last part of the song especially when the backup chorus of singers kicks in and then Prince's screams

Purple Rain - Intro

When 2 R In Love - Organ outro

The Sensual Everafter - The short bass piece, with those big greazy bottom notes.

Joy In Repetition (It Ain't Over)- First 10 seconds after he and his band get warmed up. Man goosebumps.

If I Was Your Girlfriend - Intro

Anotherloverholeinyouhead - Intro

Hot Thing - Outro

Let it Go - Outro

Play in the Sunshine: Drummer, do your thing, drummer drummer do your thing - followed by that beautiful instrumental mess.

Kiss - The part after "I think I want To Dance"

1999 - Everybody, everybody say PARTAE!! That whole part is way too funky.

Computer Blue - The intro, Wendy is the water warm enough etc. followed by the intro guitar. Instrumental break

When Doves Cry - Intro. Heard it a million times, but it is so classic

Little Red Corvette - Intro to this song up to the first chorus is just killer

Yes!!!
I was a kid when this album came out and really never heard that stuff on record before. We would always cue up this part, our eyes would bug out of our heads, we would laugh hysterically, dance around like lunatics, and cue it up again and again.

The "LOVE MMEEE!!"'s at the end of Joy in Repetition

Not only that: The end of Joy in Repetition - the Love me-innuendo with riveting guitars for me does what music is supposed to do. Rips me up emotionally, and then - a quite unique, soft and abrupt end to it all. The song stays in my body long after it is over.

And another comes to mind: Hearing the first 10 seconds of Kiss has me hooked - I have to hear it to the end. Geniously simple!

Cool. You dig the outro and I dig the intro (those bare chords give me the gosebumps).

I agree with the intro. I hear it and shiver. Also, the guitar riff in the beginning of When Doves Cry.

I had forgotten about Shh! When The Gold Experience came out, I was in high school and in the performing arts. My dance instructor asked if we had any special songs we wanted to perform to. I had suggested "Now," but I told her I also liked the beats in the intro to "Shh." She ended up mixing the two and it was off the hook! dancing jig

Good lawd! I've been listening to all these Great moments in the various songs.
I was listening to "If I Was Your Girlfriend" and omg I can't believe I didn't mention the outro of that song...
"And would u, would u let me kiss u there
You know down there where it counts
I’ll do it so good I swear I’ll drink every ounce
And then I’ll hold u tight and hold u long
And together we’ll stare into silence
And we’ll try 2 imagine what it looks like
Yeah, we’ll try 2 imagine what, what silence looks like
Yeah, we’ll try 2 imagine what silence looks like
Yeah, we’ll try..."
drool

Also, the very end of "Do Me Baby" = le swoon

Let's Go Crazy--When the guitar kicks in after the spoken word intro(it makes me feel like dancing--ed. note)/Guitar outro
Girls and Boys--the whole "happiness mama is being witchu" and "feel the sex I'm laying...naughty's what i wanna be with you tonight...tonight!" raps
Vicki Waiting--his bad joke intro
Uptown--"Good times were rollin all night, all night"
Pheromone--"What happens next, it all depends upon your style...oh this is crazy baby!"
Loose--"if you look real close, i even got your garden tool"(hilarious!)

I guess I'm mostly picking out lyrics but I was an English major, so that's usually what I remember from a song razz

I like this game headbang

The intro to WHEN DOVE'S CRY
the solo on I COULD NEVER TAKE THE PLACE OF YOUR MAN from the SOTT movie
Screaming "You lied" on Thieves in the Temple
the chorus on "How Come You Don't Call me... Anymore"
or at least the part where he sings "Down on my knees, begging you please..."

The beginning on America from the video (the live version)

the solo on Purple Rain

and probably the best was:

The emotional 2nd verse on Wally when it sounded like he was going to cry
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Any song where Prince screams like he does in Darling Nikki.

The dolphin speak in the song Dolphin.

In the song God Created Woman, there is a part where the whole song musically does a three sixty from sweet and romantic to pissed off agony.

There's something in Fury that gets to me but I haven't been able to finger it out.

Nice one, considering the first version of Wally was erased and I've never seen anybody mention hearing the second version. Kudos to you if you are the lucky one who's actually heard it, though. thumbs up! I've always wondered what it sounds like.
