I'm glad that some people got to hear the album, already. Really.
If you have the resources, go for it!
As stated in many threads, it's no big deal to hear it a bit early.

Unless, of course, the released version is different from this "leak" thang.

Alot of these internet saavy folk will definately NOT buy the album when it's released.
Why should they? They already got it for free! Sure, some fans will give in for the whole package. I'm guessing, the "refined" ones.

Maybe (just, maybe) Prince has really become hip to the bootlegging of his material and planned this whole thing?
Perhaps songs on the actual release will be longer (not remixed), like on the 'Chocolate Invasion'

I guess that would make me feel better for not hearing it too early

I don't know of someone who isn't a diehard Prince fan hearing the album. Being diehards, everyone is still going to buy it for one of two reasons: liner notes, art and a bit better sounding album and/or the Purple Ticket.

Nothing takes the place of having the real thing...

A download is nothing compared 2 the real stuff!
I'm sure every P fan will buy it.

Trust me - the actual retail will be the same as the leaked version. Now most advance copies are different from retail versions, but the leaked version of 3121 doesnt seem to be an advanced copy.

I'd buy it even if I heard the leaked version, and I haven't heard the leaked version. But the released version will come with pretty album art and pictures and lyrics and will be more better and stuff.

I've only heard Lolita and the already released singles. I'm very excited for 3/21.

i've heard it...but doesnt stop me either. i will still buy two albums, like i always do.

but what about the passing music fan who might have bought it out of curiousity that wont cause he got it free?

rationalize all you want---some sales will be lost. although probably not enough to keep it selling well.

why do i care if someone spends their money on the cd or not? i ain't gettin' a cut. i personally think people should be paid for their work and i will be buying an "official" version on 21 march. what you do or what my neighbor does regarding this cd and its leak is completely on your conscience. but i know i'm not gonna lose any sleep over whether or not prince has a number one cd or if he makes $1 million dollars or $500,000.
