big grin courtesy of AltaVista Babelfish:

The small great man of Minneapolis loves to play with the numbers, to confuse waters, to put the sticks between the wheels of the mediatica machine. A time with the continuous famous name changes and that "symbol" that it threw in the panic compilers of classifiche and recensori of the printed publication paper, today inventing the turn of the world of an only promozionale CD and the prank of the ladder denied to the journalists because a lot "music speaks alone". To the reporter other does not remain that to throw down to warmth the first impressions on the base of an only one I listen, consumed between a tartlet assay, a wine glass white man and exchanges of opinions with the colleagues assemble to you in a from Milan hotel kitsch to two steps from the Dome stilosamente (always better than to work in mine, sure. But the ideal conditions in order not to write one meditated and deepened book review). However: esultino also the fan of the first hour, because languido latin the POP of "You I love corazon", that it has anticipated of much the publication of the album (in the storees from 17 next March), of it does not represent at all the musical heart, the hard and pure kernel. The Prince of "3121" (and already the interpretations, cabalistic are wasted and not, on meant of the title it) in fact have recovered to wave with pride the flag of the funk, winking to the far times of "the wanna be your lover" and of "1999" (a lot in order to remain in topic of numbers), or to that "Black entered album" in the myth after to be remained to along hidden in the closet of house. The title track of opening (if there is from making confidence on the tracklist "bootleg" that they circulate on Internet) opens the dances - literally, because of music from dancefloor mainly draft - with corollario of sonorità distorted, tangled and moderniste that they make to think next to Beck. But it is an other false alarm, or nearly: the rest, from according to brano ("Lolita") in then, it is a cocktail shakerato in variable doses between "old school" and nu soul, James Brown and To the Green, with much electronics, techno-synthetic sounds and little guitar. The single second, "Black sweat", has a torn rhythm that it will render it enough ostico to the more conservative radios, and in all its first part the disc lies down on flowing scansions midtempo but also a po' monotone. Siccome the class is not water, to half road Mr. Nelson public square a soul ballad like God commands ("Satisfied"), in odor of Stax and also of Motown, the historical brand near which the errante artist it has found landing place lately; and endured after the first beautiful only of guitar electrical worker in a piece ("Fury") that tantum pushes one on the pedal of the rock. _ zigzagando here and here, the second part of the cd include a guess but sure not unknown coupling between guitar acoustic and beat electronic ("The word"?), one strange, congested minisuite in miniatura with pianoforte, bugle swing and agreement nu soul ("The dance") and, in closing, one ruggente "Get on the boat" that he seems stolen to the Godfather of the Soul in person, before closing unexpectedly on a break of percussions. To the end the episode that convinces little is that "Beautiful, loved & blessed" entrusted to the voice sexy of its new musa, that Tamar to which Ours it has produced to a album announced for the primaverili months (the piece, coupled to "Black sweat", ago part also of a single one already in sale in download in the greater digital storees them). Better, then, the antichi sapori that emanate often and gladly from a dry disc and without fronzoli, raw knot and, far away from the elegant divagazioni jazz of "The rainbow children" and lacking in the guest star of "Rave un2 the joy fantastic". Perhaps, after the happened one of "Musicology", Prince has thought that it was the case to return to make music for the masses. Every a lot gives the impression to have given deep to its arches historical, well-known deeper of the pockets of Eta Beta, and patience to you if stavolta it has decided to celebrate just the revival above all.

The little-great man from Minneapolis loves play with number, confuse papers, put stick in media-machine's wheels. In the past, changing name and using the 'symbol' that selz by panic critics and 'hit-list' compiler, now inventing a 'around the world cd tour' without a tracklist, 'cause "music talks itself".
The critic can only write the first impression after only one listening, eating cake and drinking white wine, talking with other critics in a kitch hotel in milano, near Duomo (better than work digging in mine, I know, but not the best way to write a good review).
Anyway: the old fans could be happy, 'cause the languid latin pop of 'te amo corazon' is not the heart of the cd. The '3121''s prince is waving again the funk flag with pride, winking to old times of 'i wanna be your lover' and '1999' or the legendary 'black album'. The first song of the cd is the title-track and it is a dance-floor song with distorted, modernist and kinked sonority, that could remind beck. But is is another false hint: lolita is a shake cocktail of old school and nu soul, James Brown and Al Green with a lot of electronic, techno-sinth sounds and no much guitar. The second single, 'black sweat' has got a ripped rhythm the could not be loved from conservative radio station, and the first time of the cd has a fluent midtempo, a little monotonous after a while.
Because style is not water, in the middle of the cd mr. Nelson put a soul ballad like God loves (satisfied), that could remind Stax and Motown too, and after the first guitar solo in a track (fury) that push the rock pedal.
Going here and there, the second half of the cd includes a nice but not new use of classic guitar and electronic beat (the word), and a strange mini-suite with piano, swing trump, and nu soul arrangement (the dance) and -ending- a roaring 'get on the boat' that seems to coming from the Father of the soul, before stop over a percussion break.
The weakest track is 'beautiful loved and blessed' singed by the sexy voice of Tamar.
Better the old flavors often exhaling from a thin cd without frills, nude and raw, far away from the tasteful jazz digression of 'the rainbow children' and without the guest stars of 'rave un2 the joy fantastic'.
Maybe, after the Musicology success, Prince decided to comeback to play music for the masses. Sometimes it seems to use his historical archives, deeper than eta-beta pockets, and this time he seems to celebrate his own revival.

I think you have to know also: 'ti amo' (love sister friends/wife), 'arrivederci' (rave) and 'Non preoccuparti per me, io sto bene, anche senza di lui. Sono arrivata in questo mondo da sola, sono arrivato così. Ma non voglio lasciarlo. Perché, perché gli uomini non ci amano così, solo così come noi ci
meritiamo?" (What Do U Want Me 2 Do?).
