Unfortunately, the embossing on PRINCE is not showing up but I promise you it is SWEET.

i can see the embossing on "ultimate". looks nice.

Liner notes? What can we expect?

The best representation of a Prince compilation to me was the Poster in music shops for "The Hits/The B-Sides" in 1993 that had photos from Prince's career, such as from the "Lovesexy" tour, etc.

I can't honestly say the "Ultimate Prince" cover does much for me; Prince is unusually cool in live tour photos

Ok, I will give a "general" response to all the question. I suggested bringing in my friend Alan Leeds (we've worked on various James Brown projects together..and Jackson 5....) but the deal from Prince's camp, I guess, was no liner notes. But I say again, with pride, that the image on the inside of the folder wil make up for anything. I promise. Plus a couple rare shots from Lovesexy & For You. Remember that these things are done under certain restrictions. But WB put in the full-tilt love into this. You'll see when you hold it in your hands. I think this is the first ever Prince CD to have an O-card (slipcase), no?
Recreateing that Purple Rain logo was fun and a definite way to have it say "Classic" Prince. And the photo on the CD cover itself is a nice classic, non-era specific shot (aside from the Bat cufflink). Again, we couldn't do EVERYTHING we wanted on this. Had to go by the rules, but THE LOVE IS THERE BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

ya shoulda had a fan do the liner notes like on the rhino millie jackson anthology (though, okay, he compiled it as well). not that i know of any prince geeks who are writers or anything...

THE OLD TRACK LIST GOT OUT TO RETAILER BY ACCIDENT SINCE THE CHANGES WERE MADE AT THE 11TH HOUR.

I guess the same copyright/trademark issues with DC Comics/Batman that kept Batdance and Partyman off The Hits prevented their inclusion on this compilation as well?
