interesting stuff re: the video, though i suppose ultimately the audio is what counts at the moment.
Hows the 'album' doing? Still at #1? On HQ they're saying its been at #2 for a few days now. Will figures be released at the end of the week?

SO do all these sales carry over until the week a "physical" single is released?
If so, it's a long awaited return to the "TOP TEN" 4 Prince.

Peace, David It would seem like that would help it debut in the top 40 in the chart I think is released tomorrow. I'm wondering if the retail single will still be released next week?

Interesting that Te Amo Corazon has been in the top 10 of soundscan sales, yet has not been charting.

Te Amo - near zero airplay, about 1,000 copies sold. Black Sweat - minor airplay across serveral formats - 11,000 copies sold. Im gonna guess 40's or 50's for tomorrows Hot 100 Willie Nelson debuted at #52 last week , with little airplay and strong sales

This is freakin awesome! This song is going to be a hit. If for nothing else, the digital sales and then the single sales will do it for him. I can't wait to see what's going to happen this month. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

What were the Hot 100 peaks of the Musicology singles?
I'm so glad digital sales account for the Hot 100 now. It just makes things a little more fair.

so how many did willie nelson have to download to get to number 52 on the hot100, when prince has been at #1 or #2 on album downloads on iTunes all week? i presume the album charts have fewer downloads than the singles though?
its great news, the highest prince has been in 6 or 7 years IIRC? it might be the peak, but it might help radio decide to play it abit more! if only they synchronised the different format releases he might chart even higher, and i'll say it again - if the NPGMC released sales figures to soundscan and billboard! all in all though, good news. Call My Name was the only musicology single to chart on the Hot100, i think it peaked at like 77 in a 16 weeks non-consectutive chart run, pretty good going really. Musicology the single would have charted from iTunes sales alone, probably Top40, if they were counted then.

I'm so glad digital sales account for the Hot 100 now. It just makes things a little more fair. softandwet was close..."Call My Name" debuted and peaked at #75 on the Hot 100 and charted for 18 non-consecutive weeks. On the R&B chart, "Musicology" peaked at #44 and "Call My Name" at #27. "Cinnamon Girl" didn't chart on any of Billboard's charts. Here is Prince's Hot 100 chart history for the last few years: 2006 "Black Sweat," #60 (to date) 2004 "Call My Name," #75 1999 "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold," #63 1999 "1999," #40 1995 "Gold," #88 1995 "I Hate U," #12 1995 "Purple Medley," #84 In 1996, "Betcha By Golly Wow" reached #32 on the airplay charts, and "Holy River" peaked at #57 on the same chart, but neither made the Hot 100 because they weren't released as physical CD singles (a chart requirement at the time). So, discounting the re-release of "1999" in 1999, "Black Sweat" is already Prince's highest charting new single since "I Hate U" eleven years ago.
