well, not really...remember, he's had that thing for 25 years now. of course it's gonna be dinged up. lol

You know i was 5-10 feet from the Honer for an hour and 45 miutes @ the Tamar/Prince show @ the Fillmore in San Francisco a few weeks ago. I was looking closely at it. It's in pretty good condition, I couldn't see any damage on it really. It was highly polished and there's some white filler stuff aound the pick-ups that looks like some kind of wear/repair, but otherwise... IT looked as good as ever.

I co sign this post, except me I was at ONA Live Belgium, after the show the guitar was displayed (with al the other) just 10 cm in front of me, I took a very very very close and detail look at it for more than 30 min until the security guard told me to leave the venue.

It's so frustrating to see how good this guitar looks, like new and more... My fender doesn't look that great after 10 years and I never dropped it sad

Prince undoubtedly has many replicas of the Hohner made up. It's pretty common in the rock world. Just ask BB King how many Lucille's he's got. It was upwards of 30, I believe. And, since Prince is known for mistreating his instruments (I've seen him slam down the symbol guitars a couple of times), I'm sure his guitar tech is constantly busy re-building those things.

During the 1997 "Love 4 One Another" tour, Prince brought along one of the gold symbol guitars. (I believe that at least two were made.) The one he took on tour was cracked in two or three places along the "scroll" and repaired with some sort of grey material.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

I was just at the show 3/12-13 in washington dc. I was real close up and even on stage during partyman. The guitar has a one major dents in the wood on the side and near the top and a few dents on the front, but no cracks or chips in the finish. When the guitar is photographed or on stage, you would never notice the dings in the finish. Considering Prince throws it off stage, and his guitar tech has to catch it, it is in great condition. I hope he never breaks it.

During the same show in Belgium, if I remember well, Prince threw his guitar in the arms of his guitar tech but he dropped it and the honner bit the dust.... So the conditions of his guitar still amystery for me.
