OK I got goose bumps to that!!
I'm glad he played some new stuff. It showed everyone that he wasn't just an 80's revival. Remember us guys over here haven't seen him on TV since he played emancipation at the brits 10 years back! It seems Fury was a stand out for some too!! Clever set Prince!! www.soundclick.com/rooke

Wooooo!
It was cool to hear Te Amo live, but I was pretty much getting excited for serious nostalgia and if Little Red Corvette took its place that would have quite fine by me (at least for today). Fury rocked, but was truncated as expected. Purple Rain with an old skool intro!!! Standard Purple Rain otherwise (always good of course). Lets Go Crazy was great because Wendy could be heard in the mix. Actually the backing vocals were really great (especially compared to the last few years). Prince and Wendy better have done that little Lets Go Crazy dance step. And for the audience participation one time he shouted "OUIII CHACHA KOOKOO YEAHHH!!!" instead of "GO CRAZY". But for the old songs with W&L Little Red Corvette and/or When Does Cry would have been better choices as they would have been featured a little more. But I'm happy, especially when we see video. PS. The guy XM Radio is a total douchebag (I never use 'douchebag' but thats all that comes to mind every time I hear him speak. Tool is also a good word to use, but I try to reserve it for Carson Daly) [Edited 2/15/06 12:43pm] Starrfighter

I MISSED THE WHOLE FUCKING THING WHILST MY DAD SAT THERE AND WATCHED IT LIVE.
He didn't get me tickets, I am furious. He doesn't even like Prince! SHIT.

I think he needed to play some classic tunes to give people something to sing along to! Musicology didn't exactly set the UK on fire as he didnt tour over here to bump up sales. Plus he hasn't continually toured the old stuff over here as he has in the US so we're not as tired of it!
I think most UK people last remember Gold in 1995!(correct me if i'm wrong but I think that was his last top 20 hit?) so this will put him back in the mainstream conciseness www.soundclick.com/rooke

OF COURSE they'll play all of it.
They can't not show the start, can they? And you can't miss out Fury, PR and LGC now can you? There's NO WAY they'll edit it down.

He never said he wouldn't perform any of the older songs, just that he was retiring SOME of them. It was the press that said it the wrong way.

I've been a fucking Prince fan for 10 years and I've never fucking seen him live. Stupid, stupid father not thinking ahead. I told him Prince was performing. He's there now - I hope he feels guilty!

did you actually believe him? does it really matter? did he ever really say that though? I don't think he did. It was just a marketing ploy to get people to the concerts. "not a fan" yeah...ok

I think most UK people last remember Gold in 1995!(correct me if i'm wrong but I think that was his last top 20 hit?) so this will put him back in the mainstream conciseness im assuming that he wouldn't perform at the brits for no reason, he's done it to begin promotion of the album in the UK. Otherwise he could have performed any old year. To me this symbolises that we shud be seeing a whole lot more of him and 3121 over here.

they're gonna have to show it because everybody who comes up to the mic is talking about his performance ... so like it or not they can't cut him
BTW and OT: Arctic Monkeys, best british breakthrough act, fricking awesome.

Maybe he meant he wouldnt perform old songs IN THE USA again.....he could rationalize it that way. Betting the tour will be mostly hits in europe...american hiberNATION for 2 more years....
