Prince's Best Album: Chaos and Disorder

Bar none. Best album cover too. It's beautiful with that big old Prince eye and footprint on the front. Looks all nasty and grimy. And they have a picture of a toilet in the liner notes. A toilet! Beautiful...

Okay, the truth is I have never actually heard the album. But it has chaos in the title so it must absolutely rock!

Forget 3121, re-release Chaos and Disorder!

I'm reading the track listing...is this "Right the Wrong" song any good? I wish I wouldn't have pawned my CD player.

"Dinner with Delores"...man that must be a hard song to listen to. I mean nothing really rhymes with Delores. Except maybe brontosaurus but no one would use that in a song, would they?

I have heard alot of bad press over this album. I have hear prince himself is disapointed for putting it out, and that he only did it to end/finish his contract with WB. I have heard he doesn't like it much, and I have seen the heard of his sheepish fans follow after his ass scraching by believing they hate the album too.

I don't really care. I wouldn't agree that it is his "best album", but I do think it rocks hard. I like it alot and it may just be one of my personal favorites.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

I personally don't care for it. Some have gone so far as to call it a "country" song... and whether you agree or disagree, there is something of a country flavor to it.

Chaos and Disorder is, IMHO, a decent album, especially if you understand what it is: an album mostly recorded over a weekend and then promptly sent to WB for release.

If you like Prince's "rock" songs, you'll probably enjoy the title track. IMHO it makes up for the last-minute replacement of "Endorphinmachine" on The Gold Experience with a different take that's more pop and less rock, and has that annoying cowbell added.

Dinner with Delores now that song wasnt that bad and it did received some airplay in summer 1996 in my local radio station.

Now as far liking the the rest of the album????? disbelief

That album was indeed a rush and that is what he did to release it and to end his contract with WB.

I'm on the side with the people who like this album. It's a very solid album, especially Into the Light/I will. They're both stunning and the guitar work on the latter is terrific!

It has some good rock songs and I like
Dig U better dead,Had U,Into the light/I will,C&D.
But I don't consider it as a regular P-album,
it'was a WB contract album and that's how it sounds like.

The only two songs I like on the album are the first two tracks, "Chaos And Disorder" and "I Like It There".

I always thought Prince purposely made this album bad to piss Warner Brothers off.

well, first off, prince make a bad albume? never say i.

I hear that he just recorded what he thought to be a bunch of crap in record time in the style they were wanting just to finish with them.

one part of a song even finishes with "see you tomorror fatass", this was/is suposed to be the last bit of recording he did and a statement to who ever he had to deal with at WB.

I love "Chaos And Disorder"!!! cool

I have no idea why people hate it!
I think those 39 minutes are more exciting than those never-ending jazz-funk jams and Larry inspired hallelujahs we hear nowadays... smile
