EMANCIPATION I don't know how many times this has been written, but...I read someone comment that P shouldn't have released "Betcha By Golly Wow!" as the 1st single, and i got to wondering: what if that, as well as the fact it was his 1st officially released cover version, was a part of his deal to be released from the WB contract? I only say that because i noticed in the credits that 3 of the 4 covers are publiushed by WB. Didn't he also have to affiliate "Emancipation music" with WB until the contract expired in 1999? Thus leading to the reason the publishing company's name was then amended to "Emancipated music"?

I don't think so. He released that song cuz he was in love with Mayte & wanted 2 pay respect 2 his soul influences from the 60's. It was never meant 2 b a hit single, anyway: he wanted 2 sell Emancipation as a whole, not making hit-singles with it. . [Edited 9/28/05 15:29pm]
