I don't like to sound like some old person going on about these kids today but, when I was a teenager I understood that Prince got a lot of his ideas from Little Richard and James Brown. I did not sit around listening to those guys all day but, I did not dismiss that music because I knew Prince would not be Prince if those guys did not come along first. Today kids like music from the eighties as long as the can hear someone rapping over it or distorting it and they don't see the connection to people like Prince or see the whole way Usher rips his moves off of Mike Jackson. Makes me think something is really wrong with the youth of today. | |
